Season Summary
The 2015 season reads like one complete chapter in the CBS era. It ended with The Brainers holding the title for Chuck Rittenhouse. The regular season was set by The Brainers, which went 9-5 with 875.0 points for in a 10-team field.
The division map mattered. GNG does not treat the standings as a simple top-six sprint: the East Side and West Side each send their own top three, so a manager has to survive his side of the league before worrying about the full table. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum led West Side at 9-5, with Alcoholniks sitting on the cut line; Zombie Werewolves led East Side at 11-3, with The Brainers sitting on the cut line. That structure created the kind of NFL-style tension GNG has always liked: Spacelords had a stronger overall profile than at least one playoff qualifier, but the divisional cut line still made the path unforgiving.
The weekly results give the year its pulse. Zombie Werewolves was the scoring heavyweight at 968.0 points for, a reminder that raw power and the final standings do not always tell the same story. Across 75 scored games over 17 weeks, the biggest combined score was Week 1, Alcoholniks vs Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum at 173.0 combined points (78.0-95.0). The closest finish was Week 14, DenBro and Spacelords tying at 41.0. The widest gap was Week 8, Zombie Werewolves over Alcoholniks, 100.0-40.0 by 60.0. The playoffs added 7 bracket games across 3 rounds, ending with The Brainers over Alcoholniks in the final.
Draft night left a trail of 150 picks across 10 teams and 15 rounds. 4 marked selections hint at the keeper pressure around roster building. 0 confirmed keepers and 4 still-debated keeper candidates shaped the roster memory for the year. Those roster choices are where the season starts to feel personal: the held-over stars, the missed bets, and the managers who had to live with both.
The CBS Year in Review added another angle: 'There can be only one.' This season, that was The Brainers. They finished off 2015 with a 64 to 33 victory over Alcoholniks, giving them a 12 - 5 final record. They were led by the Broncos Defense/ST, Brandon Marshall, and Lamar Miller, who collectively finished 85.4 points above their positional averages while in the starting lineup. Its feature image framed the year as "Broncos and The Brainers take the crown."
The message board gives the season its voice. The busiest thread was "Unbelievable..." from The Brainers - Chuck Rittenhouse, drawing 2 comments. The recurring pressure points were draft strategy and roster building, trade pressure, and money and payout logistics. Other season markers include "monies", "End of Year Pay Outs", "the shit storm...", and "On the Block Update: The Brainers".
Taken together, the title race, the week-to-week swings, the roster choices, and the board chatter turn the season into more than a list of standings. It is a memory map for the managers who lived through it.

CBS Season Recap · Jan 06, 2016 06:12 pm ET
A Year in Review
'There can be only one.' This season, that was The Brainers.
Turning our attention to the draft, it's clear that Coach Patrick jolle hit it out of the park with their first three picks. They picked up Odell Beckham, Alfred Morris, and Greg Olsen, who put up better production than any other team's top picks (+80.7 Points vs. Position Average). Coach Brad Householder was the mirror image of Coach Jolle. Their first three picks were C.J. Anderson, Russell Wilson, and Alshon Jeffery. Ouch.
DenBro could sure use the first pick in next year's draft, as they wound up at 2 - 12, good for the worst record in the league. The unimpressive finish was partially due to their 9th ranked running backs.
