Season Summary
The 2017 season reads like one complete chapter in the CBS era. It ended with Alcoholnics holding the title for Nick Claeboe. The regular season was set by Alcoholnics, which went 8-6 with 755.0 points for in a 10-team field.
The division map mattered. GNG does not treat the standings as a simple top-six sprint: the East Side and West Side each send their own top three, so a manager has to survive his side of the league before worrying about the full table. DenBro led West Side at 8-6, with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum sitting on the cut line; Black Micahs led East Side at 8-5, with Zombie Werewolves sitting on the cut line.
The weekly results give the year its pulse. Black Micahs was the scoring heavyweight at 934.0 points for, a reminder that raw power and the final standings do not always tell the same story. Across 75 scored games over 17 weeks, the biggest combined score was Week 12, The Brainers vs Homesick Abortions at 161.0 combined points (76.0-85.0). The closest finish was Week 12, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum and Black Micahs tying at 50.0. The widest gap was Week 10, Black Micahs over Big Tex's Pillow Biters, 81.0-28.0 by 53.0. The playoffs added 5 bracket games across 3 rounds, ending with Alcoholnics over DenBro in the final, with 74 game recaps adding color, led by "Smooth Operator".
Draft night left a trail of 150 picks across 10 teams and 15 rounds. 4 marked selections hint at the keeper pressure around roster building. 0 confirmed keepers and 4 still-debated keeper candidates shaped the roster memory for the year. Those roster choices are where the season starts to feel personal: the held-over stars, the missed bets, and the managers who had to live with both.
The CBS Year in Review added another angle: All ten teams started the 2018 season with dreams of a championship, but only Alcoholnics and Coach Nick Claeboe made it a reality. Alcoholnics finished off 2017 with a 80 to 54 victory over DenBro, giving them a 10 - 6 final record. Their good standing can be attributed, in part, to their running backs, who ranked 2nd in the league. Its feature image framed the year as "Alvin Kamara and Alcoholnics take the crown."
The message board gives the season its voice. The busiest thread was "HEY DICKHEADS, pay your league fees" from Alcoholnics - Nick Claeboe, drawing 0 comments. The recurring pressure points were draft strategy and roster building, lineup and waiver arguments, and money and payout logistics. Other season markers include "Next Years Draft Explained".
Taken together, the title race, the week-to-week swings, the roster choices, and the board chatter turn the season into more than a list of standings. It is a memory map for the managers who lived through it.

All Dressed Up with Nowhere to Go
Homesick Abortions finished the regular season #1. Unfortunately, that didn't count for much this week. They got beat by Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, 73 to 63.
With the loss, Homesick Abortions will close the season at 8 - 7. The win gets Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum back above .500 at 8 - 7.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum won with a balanced effort, as seven players outperformed their positional averages. Michael Crabtree was just a bit ahead of the others, scoring 13 points. Crabtree's performance could be taken with a slight grain of salt given that it came against the Cowboys, who have been the 2nd worst defense against wide receivers this season.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum also got a better-than-expected performance from Dion Lewis, who beat his projections by 4.8 points. Lewis' performance this week stopped his three game streak of not meeting his projections.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum would have won by a more comfortable margin if Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had the Rams Defense/ST and their 17 points in the starting lineup. The Rams did better than any player actually in Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's starting lineup this week.
Meanwhile, Antonio Brown and the Chargers Defense/ST both failed to come up with more than 1 point for Homesick Abortions this week. Brown left the Patriots game early after suffering a calf injury that will likely knock him out of next week's tilt too.
The only real legit performance that Homesick Abortions got came courtesy of Mark Ingram, who scored 19 points. Ingram punctuated this well designed screen play with a massive stiff arm that allowed him to get to the end zone.

Brushing 'Em Off
Black Micahs started the post-season off with a bang. They destroyed Zombie Werewolves, winning 80 to 59. Blowouts are nothing new to Coach Micah Russell, since Black Micahs has been involved in the most blowout games of anybody in league so far.
Black Micahs have now finished off three straight opponents after this win, giving them a record of 9 - 6. Zombie Werewolves will finish their season at 7 - 8.
Cam Newton was the key contributor for Black Micahs, putting up 26 points. A good performance by Newton has been crucial for Black Micahs all year, as they have gone 4 - 1 when he exceeds expectations, and 2 - 3 when he doesn't. As part of his excellent fantasy performance, he busted out what is easily the best trash talking moment of the season.
DeAndre Hopkins helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 4.2 points. Hopkins' 10 point performance this week moves him up to being the best wide receiver in the league this season.
Meanwhile, Alex Collins hadn't dropped the ball for Zombie Werewolves since week nine's stinker. Well, that run has come to an end. Collins was the worst of four underperformers, racking up 1 point.1 His performance this week ended a four game streak of beating the experts' projections.
Despite the loss, Zombie Werewolves had three standouts, with the Vikings Defense/ST, LeSean McCoy, and Aaron Rodgers recording 48 points. The Vikings scored 16 points, which is the most they've gotten this year.
Coach Russell's gameday decisions have been some of the best in the league this season, and this week showed why. They went with DeAndre Hopkins over the higher ranked Devin Funchess.
This decision gave Black Micahs a nice 10 point bonus, which only added to Black Micahs' domination. This makes it back-to-back weeks where Coach Russell have outsmarted the experts.

Bye Now
DenBro torched Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum back in week eight by 24 points, and showed no mercy in the rematch. DenBro completely dismantled Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 91 to 47. The win helped DenBro halt Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's four game winning streak.
The loss brings the season to an end for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, who finishes at 8 - 8. The win brings DenBro to 9 - 6.
Todd Gurley has been coming through for DenBro all year, and this week was no different. Gurley made it rain, recording 25 points. No other running back scored more points than that this week. A good performance by Gurley has been critical for DenBro this season, as they have gone 6 - 2 when he exceeds his expectations, and 2 - 4 when he doesn't.
DenBro also got a big effort from Wil Lutz (4.2 points above expected). Lutz's performance this week ended a three game streak of failing to hit his projections.
Jonathan Stewart has played on three different teams this year, and may need a new change of scenery after this week. Stewart was clearly the weakest link for Coach Robert Wetzel and the gang as he scored zero points.1 This is the 2nd time this year that he was the worst starter on his team.
Adding to their problems, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's Defense/ST, the Rams, was the worst at their position this week. As far as good performances for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, Dion Lewis stuck out with 19 points. Lewis set his high mark for the season with that effort.
DenBro will play Alcoholnics next week in a matchup featuring the two top players in the league (Todd Gurley for DenBro and Russell Wilson for Alcoholnics). Coach Don Zimmerman will no doubt be worried that Alvin Kamara will drop another 17 points for Alcoholnics like he did last time.
Week 16 · Dec 26, 2017 09:53 am ET
That's All Folks
Black Micahs came into this week's match-up on a three-game win streak, but Alcoholnics put an end to that. Alcoholnics took down Black Micahs handily, winning 73 to 57. The win is more of the same for Alcoholnics, who won the last game with Black Micahs by the score of 66 to 49.
Black Micahs ends their 2017 campaign with a 9 - 7 mark. The win brings Alcoholnics to 9 - 6.
Alcoholnics got a nice group performance in the win, as six players beat their positional averages. Harrison Butker was the best of the bunch, tallying 18 points. Butker topped all kickers this week with that performance.
Meanwhile, Black Micahs really lost this game as a team. Marshawn Lynch was the worst of a four man group of underperformers, totaling only 2 points.1 Coach Micah Russell have to be used to bad scores from Lynch, who has been the worst performer on Black Micahs more times than any other player. Unfortunately, more bad performances might be on tap for Lynch, who has seen his point total drop in each of the last three weeks.
Cam Newton has to share in some of the blame as well, coming up with 3.7 fewer points than he was expected to. Newton's performances have been a good barometer for Black Micahs this season, as they have gone 2 - 4 when he fails to meet his expectations, and 4 - 1 when he meets them.
Coach Russell have to look in the mirror for part of the blame for this week's loss. They started two players that the experts thought should be riding the pine. One of those picks, Marshawn Lynch, worked out. The other pick, the Jaguars Defense/ST, did not. Overall, these moves cost Black Micahs a total of 11 points.
Alcoholnics' next game will be against DenBro in a rematch from week nine. Alcoholnics lost the previous matchup 58 to 41. DenBro brings in the best player in the league over the past three weeks: Todd Gurley.
Week 17 · Jan 02, 2018 01:50 am ET
Called It
This was expected to be a blowout, and Alcoholnics didn't disappoint. They stomped all over DenBro 80 to 54. Blowouts are typical for these teams these days, as both of them were in blowouts last week as well.
The win brings Alcoholnics to 10 - 6, and sends them to the top of our internal power rankings. The loss drops DenBro's record to 9 - 7.
Alcoholnics had an all-star group lined up for the early Sunday slate, and they came through big time. The tag team of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marvin Jones led the charge, scoring 23 points between them. Jones' performance this week stopped his three game streak of not meeting his projections.
Meanwhile, every one of the four players that DenBro had going early on Sunday underperformed their positional averages, and yet somehow DenBro didn't do all that bad, as several players came close. Jamaal Williams was the worst offender, scoring 5 points. Williams has now underperformed the league average running back in three straight games.
Alcoholnics were already comfortably ahead going into the Sunday late games. After a bunch of players, led by the Chiefs Defense/ST, scored a metric ton of fantasy points, the game was over.
DenBro weren't perfect, but Coach Don Zimmerman were. Pulling that off took some extra effort this week. They started Wil Lutz instead of Kai Forbath, despite the experts' prediction that Forbath should have played.
This decision netted Coach Zimmerman an extra 4 points, which obviously wasn't close to enough. This is the first time all year that Coach Zimmerman has set a perfect lineup (slow clap).

Smooth Operator
Forget the teams, it's Coach Erran Yearty that is the big winner this week. He started three players that the experts thought should be riding the pine. Two of those picks, Jason Witten and LeGarrette Blount, worked out. The other pick, Adam Vinatieri, did not.
Overall, these decisions netted Pinko Commie Bastards a total of 13 points, which ended up winning them the game, as Pinko Commie Bastards strolled past The Brainers, winning 41 to 31.
Witten was expected to be the worst performing TE this week, but apparently that was just fuel for the fire. Witten joined up with Blount and Jordan Howard to post 24 points. Witten held on to this reception to become the all-time leading Cowboys receiver.
Meanwhile, the loss for The Brainers came down to a pretty simple factor: they didn't go anywhere. Collectively, they only managed to gain 217 yards rushing and receiving. That was the lowest yards gained total of any team this week.
We thought Coach Chuck Rittenhouse made a shrewd pickup after drafting Allen Robinson in the 12th round, but that move didn't look so good this week. Robinson was the worst of four underperformers, racking up 17 total yards.
Next week, Pinko Commie Bastards will take on the 1 - 0 Homesick Abortions. Homesick Abortions might present a challenge, having posted the highest score this week. Meanwhile, The Brainers will take on Black Micahs.
Week 1 · Sep 12, 2017 01:56 pm ET
Working It
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum took Big Tex's Pillow Biters out of the playoffs last year, and went ahead and rubbed some salt in that wound this week. They demolished Big Tex's Pillow Biters, winning 58 to 40. That 18 point margin was the biggest gap between any two teams this week.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum relied heavily on the Rams Defense/ST, who scored 26 points. The Rams overperformed their expectations by more than any other player. Their performance was also the 3rd best of any player this week.1
It was, unfortunately, a costly win for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum. David Johnson dislocated his wrist and will likely be going under the knife, potentially missing 3-4 months.
Meanwhile, while balance might be good for gymnasts, it didn't help Big Tex's Pillow Biters this week. Devonta Freeman paced the team by beating the average running back by 0.9 points, while Greg Olsen (3.6 points worse than the average tight end) was the worst on the team.
Softening the loss a bit, Big Tex's Pillow Biters looks like they may have found a real player off the discard pile. Coach William Hayes picked up Kareem Hunt off the waiver wire and saw him score 27 points (on the bench, but still).
Next week will see Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum taking on the 0 - 1 SkinFan. Meanwhile, Big Tex's Pillow Biters will be playing DenBro.
Week 1 · Sep 12, 2017 01:56 pm ET
No Worries
DenBro sent Zombie Werewolves crying home to mommy after a thorough 56 to 40 spanking.
DenBro were led by the tag team of Todd Gurley and Kai Forbath, who together delivered 22 points.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves had many underperformers, but the Vikings Defense/ST stood out, dropping only 3 points.1 Tevin Coleman added to Zombie Werewolves' troubles, scoring only 2 points.
Next week will see DenBro taking on the 0 - 1 Big Tex's Pillow Biters. Big Tex's Pillow Biters will bring the league's top player this week, Kareem Hunt, into the game. Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will collide with Alcoholnics next week.
Week 1 · Sep 12, 2017 01:56 pm ET
Easy Street
Homesick Abortions had to be wary coming into this game after losing both matches against SkinFan last season. Thankfully for Coach Chris Crowder, the past was not prelude. Homesick Abortions made it look easy against SkinFan, winning 59 to 42. The 59 points Homesick Abortions scored set the high mark for the league this week.
Homesick Abortions won with a balanced effort, as four players outperformed their positional averages. The Panthers Defense/ST was the best of the bunch, tallying 14 points.1 Although Coach Crowder got the win, he cannot have been happy with Christian McCaffrey's performance this week. McCaffrey failed to show up, scoring 1 point.
Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins stuck out as the worst performer for SkinFan, totaling only 4 points.2 Cousins fell farther short of his expected points than any other player this week.
SkinFan also had to deal with a bad performance from Brandon Marshall, who scored exactly zero points. Marshall caught only one of the four passes thrown his way, and that only went for 10 yards.
The schedule for Homesick Abortions brings Pinko Commie Bastards around next week. As for SkinFan, they will square off against Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 1 · Sep 12, 2017 01:56 pm ET
World's Best Cheerleader
Black Micahs were expected to win this one going away, but Alcoholnics put up a good fight. In the only close game this week, they just barely got past Alcoholnics, winning 50 to 49.
The Steelers Defense/ST was the key contributor for Black Micahs, putting up 16 points. The game wouldn't have been as close if Coach Micah Russell had put the Jaguars Defense/ST (27 points) in the lineup. The Jaguars did better than any player actually in Black Micahs' starting lineup this week.
Coach Nick Claeboe can look to the Texans Defense/ST and Russell Wilson when passing out blame for the loss. The two combined to score only 3 points. The Texans scored zero points, which made them the worst starter this week. Alcoholnics also had to deal with a poor effort from Rob Gronkowski (5 points below expected).
Black Micahs will be going against The Brainers next week. The Brainers not only lost this week, but scored fewer points than any other team. As for Alcoholnics, they will match up with Zombie Werewolves.
Week 2 · Sep 19, 2017 03:39 pm ET
All Eyes on Me
By a score of 63 to 53, Zombie Werewolves walked away victorious over Alcoholnics. The win brings Zombie Werewolves back to even at 1 - 1.
Ty Montgomery was the clear leader on Zombie Werewolves this week, posting 16 points. Montgomery got help from four other players, including 9 points from Delanie Walker.
Over in the loser's circle, Alcoholnics got a big game from Rob Gronkowski. Gronk scored 12 points, which were the most that any tight end collected this week. Unfortunately for Alcoholnics, he was the only player on the whole team that had a legit good performance.
It will be difficult for Coach Nick Claeboe to fault any one player for the loss. Alcoholnics had six underperformers, with Jordy Nelson (zero points) being the worst.
Next week will see Alcoholnics taking on the 1 - 1 Pinko Commie Bastards. Pinko Commie Bastards will come into next week having failed to break the 45 point mark yet. Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will collide with Black Micahs.
Week 2 · Sep 19, 2017 03:39 pm ET
Smooth Sailing
SkinFan didn't give Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum a chance this week, blowing past them 67 to 43. No other team dominated the opposition so completely this week. The game evens up both teams' records at 1 - 1.
SkinFan had almost all of their firepower going off during the early Sunday slate, and they came through. The Ravens Defense/ST led the charge, scoring 17 points. That was the 2nd most of any Defense/ST this week.
Meanwhile, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum were having a so-so performance. They had four slightly underperforming players, with Brandin Cooks (1 point) being the worst.
Going into the Sunday late games, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum were already a long shot to win. After the Rams Defense/ST dropped only 2 points, the game was over.
Coach Robert Wetzel's lineup matched the poor performance of their team. They started the Rams and Jared Cook instead of the Chiefs Defense/ST and Hunter Henry, despite expert advice to do the exact opposite.
These decisions cost Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum a total of 13 points, which--thankfully for Coach Wetzel--didn't matter much this game. However, it did make Coach Wetzel the worst performing gameday coach this week.
SkinFan will face off against DenBro next week. DenBro have been the highest scoring team so far this year. Meanwhile, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will take on Homesick Abortions.
Week 2 · Sep 19, 2017 03:39 pm ET
Better Lucky than Good
Homesick Abortions were able to grind out a solid victory this week against Pinko Commie Bastards, winning by a score of 48 to 41. Big time luck for Homesick Abortions in this contest, as they would have lost against all but one other team. The win brings Homesick Abortions' record to 2 - 0, while dropping Pinko Commie Bastards to 1 - 1.
Derek Carr separated himself from the rest of the crew on Homesick Abortions, dropping 19 points.
Meanwhile, this week's loss for Pinko Commie Bastards was a true group effort. They were brought down by six underperformers, the worst of whom was Jordan Howard (zero points).1 Kerwynn Williams falling 4.4 points short of his expectations didn't help matters much either. Williams might be heading back to the waiver wire after getting picked up before this game.
Coach Erran Yearty certainly can't blame the loss on Tom Brady, who scored 24 points. Quite an improvement from last week, when Brady managed only 5 points.
Coach Yearty tried to second guess the experts this week when setting his lineup, and the result was very costly. He went with Kenny Golladay over the higher ranked Martavis Bryant. This decision took a 10 point chunk out of Pinko Commie Bastards' final score, which cost them the game.
Homesick Abortions will be going against Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum next week. As for Pinko Commie Bastards, they will square off against Alcoholnics.
Week 2 · Sep 19, 2017 03:39 pm ET
Come with me, if you want to win
Big Tex's Pillow Biters have owned DenBro in the past to the tune of a 4 and 1 record, and went ahead and added to that ledger of dominance this week. They wound up with a solid victory margin against DenBro, winning 67 to 60. Just another good result from the leagues' all-time leader in winning percentage.
The game leaves both teams squared up at one win and one loss.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters were led by the two man wrecking crew of Kareem Hunt and Devonta Freeman, who combined for 51% of Big Tex's Pillow Biters' points. Hunt busted out this 53 yard TD run to become the first NFL player EVER to have a 50+ yard TD in each of his first two games. Dez Bryant helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 3.8 points.
Although they got the win, Big Tex's Pillow Biters had some bad luck in the personnel department. Greg Olsen broke his foot and will likely be out for six to eight weeks while recovering from surgery.
Meanwhile, Coach Don Zimmerman will find no easy scapegoat for this week's loss. Ezekiel Elliott was the worst of a four man group of underperformers on DenBro, posting zero points. Another underperformer, kicker Kai Forbath, was the worst at his position. DenBro did get a couple of good, but ultimately futile, efforts from Emmanuel Sanders and Todd Gurley, who came up with a total of 31 points.
Next week, Big Tex's Pillow Biters will take on the 0 - 2 Brainers. The Brainers have scored the fewest points so far this year. Meanwhile, DenBro will be playing SkinFan.
Week 2 · Sep 19, 2017 03:39 pm ET
Follow the Leader
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse has to be kicking himself for his lineup decisions this week. Perhaps scared off by Chris Boswell's 3 point performance last week, Coach Rittenhouse left him on the bench in favor of Brandon McManus, despite the experts' prediction that Boswell should have played.
This terrible decision shaved 10 points from The Brainers' score and cost them the game, as they just didn't have enough against Black Micahs (2 - 0), losing 55 to 50.
We thought Coach Micah Russell made a great draft move in picking up Travis Kelce in the 4th round, and that move looks even better now. Although Black Micahs got a nice group performance in the win, Kelce was the first among equals, posting 11 points.1 He hurdled a defender before plowing through two other defenders in the air, dragging them into the endzone as part of this amazing touchdown.
Black Micahs also got a big effort from Chris Hogan (4.4 points above expected). Coach Russell's squad overcame poor performances from Cam Newton and the Jaguars Defense/ST (8 points combined) in getting this win. Newton fell farther short of his expected points than any other player this week.
Meanwhile, Coach Rittenhouse will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. The Brainers had four underperformers, with DeMarco Murray (1 point) being the worst.2 Another underperformer, tight end Jimmy Graham, was the worst at his position this week.
Next week, The Brainers will be playing Big Tex's Pillow Biters. As for Black Micahs, they will match up with Zombie Werewolves.
Week 3 · Sep 26, 2017 12:23 pm ET
Leave it to Me
Black Micahs were projected to have the most points this week, but they uh...fell a little short. They got clobbered by Zombie Werewolves, losing 55 to 25. In addition to losing the game, Coach Micah Russell had the distinction of posting the worst score in the league so far this season.
The loss drops Black Micahs' record to 2 - 1, while the win brings Zombie Werewolves to an identical 2 - 1.
Zombie Werewolves had a decent start during the early Sunday games. The Vikings Defense/ST and Graham Gano took the lead, scoring 18 points between them. Gano has now exceeded the average kicker's performance in every game so far this year.
Meanwhile, Black Micahs decided the whole 'scoring points' thing was passe. Cam Newton kept the scoreboard operator relaxed, coming up with only 3 points. Newton has now failed to hit his expected points in any game so far this year.
Black Micahs also had to deal with a poor effort from the Steelers Defense/ST (7.1 points below expected).
Going into the Sunday late games, Zombie Werewolves was a heavy favorite. After Aaron Rodgers scored 20 points, Zombie Werewolves had themselves a 'W'.
Next week will see Black Micahs taking on the 1 - 2 SkinFan. Both Black Micahs and SkinFan come into that game licking their wounds after getting thoroughly knocked around by their opponents.
As for Zombie Werewolves, they will match up with Pinko Commie Bastards next week. Zombie Werewolves have now been an underdog in both the last two weeks, and won both times. Maybe they'll get a bit more credit going into their next one.
Week 3 · Sep 26, 2017 12:23 pm ET
Just Get Out of the Way
This game was expected to be close. Big Tex's Pillow Biters found those expecatations insulting. They crushed The Brainers, winning 68 to 37.
The loss makes it three in a row for The Brainers, which gives them a 0 - 3 record. The win brings Big Tex's Pillow Biters to 2 - 1.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters had all (well, most) hands on deck in this win, with six players beating their positional averages. Kareem Hunt was just a bit ahead of the others, racking up 15 points.1 Hunt broke out yet another 50+ yard TD in week 3; this time it was a 69 yard touchdown run.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters also got a better-than-expected performance from Devonta Freeman, who beat his projections by 4 points. Freeman has now bested the average running back's point total in every game so far this year. The only real damper on Big Tex's Pillow Biters' victory came from the Seahawks Defense/ST, who scored zero points.
While Big Tex's Pillow Biters had plenty of heroes in the victory, The Brainers had plenty of duds in the loss. They were brought down by six underperformers, the worst of whom was Jack Doyle (-2 points). No other player has scored fewer points than that this season. The Brainers were also hurt by the 3rd straight game that Isaiah Crowell has failed to exceed his expected points.
Coach William Hayes' lineup decisions earned his team points last week, and did again this week. He went with Dustin Hopkins over the higher ranked Blair Walsh.
This decision netted Coach Hayes an extra 6 points, which only added to Big Tex's Pillow Biters' domination. With the 6 points he added to his team's total today, Coach Hayes is now the best game-day coach in the league, passing Coach Don Zimmerman.
Coach Hayes will put his managerial prowess to work against Homesick Abortions next week. As for The Brainers, they will square off against Alcoholnics.
Week 3 · Sep 26, 2017 12:23 pm ET
Yep, That's It
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum got this win with a little bit in reserve, earning a 43 to 35 victory over Homesick Abortions. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum won despite having the 4th lowest scoring total in the league this week. The win brings Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's record to 2 - 1, while dropping Homesick Abortions to a matching 2 - 1.
Dalvin Cook and Jared Cook were the key contributors for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, scoring 13 and 8 points, respectively. Given their low point total, it's not surprising that Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had several underperformers (five to be exact). Justin Tucker was the worst of them, scoring only 1 point.1 That was fewer than every other kicker this season.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions really lost this game as a team. They had six underperformers, with Derek Carr (3 points) being the worst.2 Carr averaged an atrocious 3.8 yards per pass attempt, checking down constantly while under consistent pressure. Homesick Abortions were also hurt by the 3rd straight game that Christian McCaffrey has failed to exceed his expected points.
Both teams have a tough upcoming schedule. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will face off against DenBro next week. DenBro have been the highest scoring team so far this year.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions will collide with Big Tex's Pillow Biters. Big Tex's Pillow Biters will enter the game with Kareem Hunt, who has been the best player in the league so far.
Week 3 · Sep 26, 2017 12:23 pm ET
Uh...Maybe Next Time
In a week that featured three blowouts, this was the biggest. DenBro perfectly destroyed SkinFan, winning 79 to 45. The 34 point margin that separated these teams represents the biggest blowout of the season so far.
The win brings DenBro's record to 2 - 1, while dropping SkinFan to 1 - 2.
Two of the key players in this fight were real life teammates, as DenBro's Matt Ryan squared off against Matt Bryant. While they were on the same team, they sure didn't deliver the same result. Matt Ryan disappointed with a comparatively paltry 9 points for DenBro. Ryan has now failed to exceed the average quarterback's point total in any week this year.
Meanwhile Matt Bryant kept pace with a 14 point effort for Coach Tim Fabrizio. Bryant has now exceeded his points expectations in every game so far this year.
With Ryan failing to come through, it was up to the rest of the boys on DenBro. They answered the call, scoring 70 points. That group was led by Todd Gurley, who scored 24 points. Gurley has already matched his 2016 total with six touchdowns.
The schedule for SkinFan brings Black Micahs around next week. That team will limp into the contest having posted only 25 points this week. Meanwhile, DenBro will take on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 3 · Sep 26, 2017 12:23 pm ET
Not Wanted
Coach Erran Yearty picked a bad week to make a bad lineup. He started Martavis Bryant instead of T.Y. Hilton, despite the experts' prediction that Hilton should have played.
This terrible decision cost Pinko Commie Bastards a total of 13 points and cost them the game, as they got beat by Alcoholnics (1 - 2), 62 to 52.
Three players (Jordy Nelson, Carlos Hyde, and Rob Gronkowski) delivered victory to Alcoholnics, getting 40 of their team's 62 points. Gronk scored 10 points, which topped all but one tight end this week. Alcoholnics also got the benefit of the 3rd straight game that Alex Smith exceeded his expectations.
Alcoholnics got the win despite leaving Russell Wilson and his 28 points on the bench. Wilson did better than any player actually in Alcoholnics' starting lineup this week.
Meanwhile, there were plenty of chefs cooking up this week's loss for Pinko Commie Bastards. Giorgio Tavecchio was the worst of a seven man group of underperformers, putting up only 4 points.1 The Patriots Defense/ST have to share in some of the blame as well, coming up with 3.5 fewer points than they were expected to. That continues a theme for The Patriots, who are yet to top the average Defense/ST's point total in any week so far.
Tom Brady was the only player on Pinko Commie Bastards that performed above average, although he came up big, recording 32 points. Brady couldn't have thrown his fifth (and game-winning) touchdown to Brandin Cooks any better.
Next week, Alcoholnics will take on The Brainers, who have scored the fewest points so far this year. The Brainers will also come into the game looking for their first win. Meanwhile, Pinko Commie Bastards will be playing Zombie Werewolves.
Week 4 · Oct 03, 2017 12:28 pm ET
Full Nelson
After losing three straight games, Coach Chuck Rittenhouse's squad figured: 'why not another?' The Brainers (0 - 4) lost to Alcoholnics (2 - 2), 49 to 43. The Brainers have now failed to hit the league average point total in four straight games.
Alcoholnics got a fairly lucky victory, winning with the 4th lowest point total in the league this week. Not only did The Brainers lose, but they now sit at the bottom of every component in the CBS power rankings.
Most of Coach Nick Claeboe's team were basically spectating, as Jordy Nelson and Russell Wilson combined for 71% of Alcoholnics' points. After Nelson's performance this week, he moved up to being the 2nd best wide receiver in the league. He might never be more open than he was on this beyond easy touchdown.
There were five underperformers keeping Alcoholnics from a proper victory, with the Giants Defense/ST (1 point) being the worst of them.1 The Giants have now failed to hit their expected points in any game so far this year.
Meanwhile, there's no pointing fingers in The Brainers' loss as they failed all over the place. Ryan Succop was the worst of a six man group of underperformers, putting up only 2 points. That was the 2nd fewest of any kicker this season.
Coach Rittenhouse could have won this game with the right lineup. He started two players that the experts thought should be riding the pine. One of those picks, the Broncos Defense/ST, worked out. The other pick, Succop, did not.
Overall, these moves cost The Brainers a total of 4 points. If Coach Rittenhouse had kept the Broncos in the lineup, left Succop on the bench, and also started Davante Adams, The Brainers would have won the game.
Next week, The Brainers will take on the 3 - 1 Zombie Werewolves. Bad timing for The Brainers, as Zombie Werewolves will come into the matchup on a three game winning streak. As for Alcoholnics, they will match up with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 4 · Oct 03, 2017 12:28 pm ET
One for the Books
Big Tex's Pillow Biters came into the game as the biggest favorite this week and proceeded to make the experts look good. They gave Homesick Abortions a 72 to 37 point drubbing. That 35 point win is the biggest blowout so far this season.
With the win, Big Tex's Pillow Biters moved to 3 - 1, good for the top spot in the West Side division. The loss drops Homesick Abortions' record to 2 - 2.
The Seahawks Defense/ST were probably in Coach William Hayes' doghouse after last week's 0 point 'performance'. They might be let out now. The Seahawks were the key contributor for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, notching 19 points.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters also got a big effort from Dak Prescott (5.9 points above expected). That makes it three straight games of overperforming expectations for Prescott.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions saw seven different players underperform, and while none of them particularly stuck out, Christian McCaffrey and his 1 point was officially the worst.1 McCaffrey's bad day looks even worse in light of the fact that he was going up against the Patriots, who have been the 2nd worst defense against running backs so far this season. He has now been the worst performer on Homesick Abortions more times than any other player.
A key injury will make this loss for Homesick Abortions sting even more. Derek Carr suffered a transverse process fracture (similar to what Tony Romo had in 2014) and will be out for two to six weeks.
Coach Chris Crowder has had the most stable lineup in the league, but that consistency wasn't helpful this week. He left Andy Dalton and the Raiders Defense/ST on the bench in favor of Carr and the Panthers Defense/ST, who were both expected to score less.
These terrible decisions shaved 20 points from Homesick Abortions' score, which ultimately didn't make a difference in the final outcome. Having cost his team 21 points total, Coach Crowder is the worst game-day coach in the league so far this season.
Next week, Big Tex's Pillow Biters will be playing SkinFan. The game ought to be quite the strategic battle as it will feature the best gameday coaches in the league so far. Homesick Abortions' next three games are against winning teams, starting with DenBro next week.
Week 4 · Oct 03, 2017 12:28 pm ET
Three-peat
Last year's playoff loss at the hands of Pinko Commie Bastards might still be ringing in Coach Patrick jolle's ears, but they got some measure of revenge this week. Zombie Werewolves (3 - 1) got the job done against Pinko Commie Bastards (1 - 3), winning 53 to 47.
The game leaves both these teams streaking in opposite directions. The victory makes it three in a row for Zombie Werewolves. The defeat puts Pinko Commie Bastards on a three game losing streak.
Zombie Werewolves relied heavily on Aaron Rodgers, who produced 23 points.
Pinko Commie Bastards, meanwhile, were having a terrible time moving the ball down the field, with the whole team gaining only 245 yards. No other team gained fewer total yards this week. Coach Erran Yearty can blame the poor result in that category on Jason Witten, Tarik Cohen, and Alshon Jeffery, who together gained only 86 total yards.
These teams will see a difference in the quality of their upcoming opponents. Zombie Werewolves will be going against The Brainers next week. The Brainers will come into the game looking for their first win.
Meanwhile, Pinko Commie Bastards will take on Black Micahs. Pinko Commie Bastards will face off against Chris Hogan in that game, part of a three game stretch against tough wide receivers which will see them take on Jordy Nelson and Stefon Diggs in the following weeks.
Week 4 · Oct 03, 2017 12:28 pm ET
Battering Ram
Coming into the game, DenBro had scored the most points of any team this season, and they kept that momentum going. Coach Don Zimmerman's squad earned a nice victory over Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 67 to 57. The win brings DenBro's record to 3 - 1, while dropping Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum to 2 - 2.
DenBro had two main stars in Ezekiel Elliott and Todd Gurley, who together tallied 35 points. Gurley's 17 point performance this week moves him up to being the best player in the league this season. He showed off some receiving chops on this 53 yard TD catch, the longest of his career.
DenBro also got the benefit of the 4th straight game that Wil Lutz exceeded his expectations. The only real bad apple in DenBro's orchard this week was Matt Ryan, who scored 3 points. That performance was worse than every other player this week.1
Coach Robert Wetzel put Joe Mixon into the Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum lineup for the first time this week, but Mixon might want to keep his bench warming pants clean. Mixon and Brandin Cooks were quite coordinated in their failures for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum. They each totaled only 1 point.
The only other player on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum that failed to perform was Justin Tucker, who scored 4 points. Bad performances are pretty common these days for Tucker, who has now underperformed the experts' predictions in three straight games.
Adding injury to insult, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had a key player go down. Dalvin Cook suffered a non-contact ACL tear on Sunday that will put an end to his season.
Next week will see DenBro taking on the 2 - 2 Homesick Abortions. Coach Zimmerman are getting Homesick Abortions at the right time, as they will limp into next week's game having posted less than 45 points each of the last two weeks. As for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, they will square off against Alcoholnics.
Week 4 · Oct 03, 2017 12:28 pm ET
Too Deep
'The thrill is gone'--at least when it comes to SkinFan's recent games. The previous two games were blowouts, and this week's action was no different. SkinFan suffered a huge loss to Black Micahs, going down 91 to 63. The two teams combined for the highest score so far this season.
The loss drops SkinFan's record to 1 - 3, while the win brings Black Micahs to 3 - 1.
Le'Veon Bell separated himself from the rest of the crew on Black Micahs, recording 21 points. Bell got 35 rushing attemps in the rout over Baltimore, which bodes well heading into a favorable matchup with Jacksonville.
The Jaguars Defense/ST helped out as well, exceeding their projected point total by 5.5 points. Myles Jack provided a big chunk of the Jags production with this huge 81 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.
The game would have been an even bigger blowout if Black Micahs had Cam Newton and his 27 points in the starting lineup. Newton's performance this week was better than every other bench-rider in the league.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Stewart loomed large in the loss for SkinFan, scoring 1 point. Stewart has now underperformed the league average running back in three straight games. SkinFan were also hurt by the 4th straight game that Jordan Reed has failed to exceed his expected points.
Losing to a good team better not become a pattern for SkinFan, as its next two games are also against winning teams, starting with Big Tex's Pillow Biters next week. Meanwhile, Black Micahs will be playing Pinko Commie Bastards. Good timing, as Pinko Commie Bastards will come into the matchup on a three game losing streak.
Week 5 · Oct 10, 2017 12:27 pm ET
It's Elementary for Watson
Black Micahs had the 3rd best wide receivers coming into this game, and they came through for Coach Micah Russell once again. Black Micahs used sticky hands to power themselves to a 97 to 58 victory over Pinko Commie Bastards. DeAndre Hopkins scored 20 points, while Chris Hogan scored 9. Hopkins made this desperation catch in quadruple coverage, which didn't save a lost game for the Texans but still counted big in fantasy.
Black Micahs also got a better-than-expected performance from Deshaun Watson, who beat his projections by 25.1 points. Watson's 33 points set the new high mark for all players this season.
Meanwhile, Coach Erran Yearty will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. Pinko Commie Bastards were brought down by five underperformers, the worst of whom was Tom Brady (7 points).1 Brady's performance this week ended a three game streak of beating the experts' projections.
The Dolphins Defense/ST and Adam Vinatieri, scoring 37 points, did their best to make the final margin slightly less embarrassing. After their performance this week, the Dolphins are looking like a darn good waiver wire pickup.
With the win, Black Micahs moved to 4 - 1, good for the top spot in the East Side division. This loss brings Pinko Commie Bastards' losing streak to four in a row, dropping their record to 1 - 4.
Both teams have good news in the upcoming schedule. Black Micahs might want to throw a party since they have cupcakes everywhere. After finishing off the sub .500 Pinko Commie Bastards, they get to face three less-than-impressive teams, starting with The Brainers next week. That game will see both of this week's top wide receivers square off, when DeAndre Hopkins matches up against Davante Adams.
Meanwhile, Pinko Commie Bastards will take on Alcoholnics next week. That team will limp into next week's game having posted less than 50 points each of the last two weeks. The contest will be a rematch from week three, when Pinko Commie Bastards lost 62 to 52.
Week 5 · Oct 10, 2017 12:27 pm ET
Ragin Cajun
Big Tex's Pillow Biters had a bad week, and nobody is more at fault than Coach William Hayes. He went with the Bills Defense/ST and Stephen Hauschka over the higher ranked the Seahawks Defense/ST and Blair Walsh.
These decisions took a 7 point chunk out of Big Tex's Pillow Biters' final score and cost them the game, as they couldn't seal the deal against SkinFan (2 - 3), losing 68 to 63.
Leonard Fournette was the clear leader on SkinFan this week, posting 22 points. Fournette has now exceeded his points expectations in every game so far this year. He went untouched on a leap from the three yard line on this spectacular rushing TD.
Meanwhile, it will be difficult for Coach Hayes to fault any one player for the loss. Mike Gillislee was the worst of a four man group of underperformers on Big Tex's Pillow Biters, producing only 2 points.1 This is the 1st time this year that he was the worst starter on his team. The only real legit performance that Big Tex's Pillow Biters got came courtesy of Dak Prescott, who scored 25 points.
Both teams face trouble in the upcoming schedule. The schedule for Big Tex's Pillow Biters brings Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum around next week. The game will be a rematch from week one, but Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will have Cameron Brate, who had his bye week during the first matchup.
Coach Tim Fabrizio should hope that the victory over a quality opponent like Big Tex's Pillow Biters establishes a pattern, as their next two games are against winning teams, starting with DenBro next week. DenBro comes into the match on a three game winning streak.
Week 5 · Oct 10, 2017 12:27 pm ET
The Thrill of (a) Victory
Things were lining up pretty well for Zombie Werewolves coming into this one. They came into the game on a three game winning streak, while The Brainers came into the game on a four game losing streak. But then, this is why they play the game.
The Brainers got past Zombie Werewolves without much trouble, winning 70 to 52. The win is the first of the season for The Brainers, making their record 1 - 4. The loss drops Zombie Werewolves' record to 3 - 2.
Carson Wentz did about as good for The Brainers this week as he did bad last week. Although The Brainers had several players step up in the win, Wentz was the best of the bunch, dropping 26 points.
The Brainers also got a good performance from A.J. Green, who scored 14 points. Green managed to put five yards between him and the DB on this go route, showing off world class speed.
It wasn't all good news this week for The Brainers though. Odell Beckham suffered a horrific broken ankle injury that will put an end to his 2017 campaign.
Meanwhile, Coach Patrick jolle will find no easy scapegoat for this week's loss. Zombie Werewolves had five underperformers, with Stefon Diggs (zero points) being the worst. Diggs' 0 point performance was the worst of any wide receiver this week. Zombie Werewolves were also hurt by the 5th straight game that LeSean McCoy has failed to exceed his expected points.
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse can pat himself on the back for this week's victory. He started Carson Wentz instead of Ben Roethlisberger, despite the experts' prediction that Roethlisberger should have played.
This decision boosted The Brainers' final score by 30 points, which was the difference in the game. Coach Rittenhouse's decisions this week also allow him to relinquish his title as the worst gameday coach in the league (Coach Robert Wetzel wears the crown now).
The strength of schedule diverges for these squads next week. Zombie Werewolves' loss is a bad start to a very easy stretch on their schedule. The next three games are against less-than-impressive teams, starting with Homesick Abortions next week.
As for The Brainers, they will match up with Black Micahs. Coach Micah Russell's team just had a huge week, having posted 97 points. Black Micahs will get to start the league's hottest player in Deshaun Watson.
Week 5 · Oct 10, 2017 12:27 pm ET
I'll Have Another
It wasn't too close for comfort, but it was still pretty close, as DenBro beat Homesick Abortions 53 to 48. DenBro won despite having their lowest point total for the year.
DenBro have now won three games in a row, bringing their record to 4 - 1. The loss drops Homesick Abortions to 2 - 3, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings.
DenBro had three players lead the way, with Zach Ertz, Philip Rivers, and Kai Forbath putting up 35 points. Ertz's performance paced DenBro for the 1st time this year.
Andy Dalton got his first start for Homesick Abortions this week, but it might be his last. Dalton was clearly the weakest link for Coach Chris Crowder and the gang as he recorded 8 points.1 Homesick Abortions only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Kyle Rudolph scoring 8 points.
Next week will see DenBro taking on the 2 - 3 SkinFan. Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions will be playing Zombie Werewolves.
Week 5 · Oct 10, 2017 12:27 pm ET
Sabotage
Scoring the fewest points in the league for the week is bad strategy. Just ask Coach Nick Claeboe. Alcoholnics could not make it much of a game, losing to Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum 53 to 35. The loss drops Alcoholnics' record to 2 - 3, while the win brings Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum to 3 - 2.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, who were the underdog in this matchup, got off to a decent start early. They were powered by Cameron Brate, who scored 9 points. Brate has now overperformed the experts' predictions in three straight games.
Meanwhile, Coach Claeboe's squad was taking a collective personal day. Carlos Hyde was the worst of a four man group of underperformers, scoring exactly zero points.
Alcoholnics also had to deal with a poor effort from Jay Ajayi (5 points below expected). Ajayi has now underperformed the experts' predictions in four straight games.
A win was looking pretty unlikely for Alcoholnics going into the Sunday late games. The door slammed shut for good after Russell Wilson dropped only 6 points.
Alcoholnics have a lucky matchup set for next week. They play Pinko Commie Bastards, a team currently on a four game losing skid. The game will be a rematch from week three, and Coach Claeboe will no doubt be worried that Tom Brady will drop another 32 points for Pinko Commie Bastards like he did the last time those teams faced off.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's next game will be against Big Tex's Pillow Biters in a rematch from week one. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum won the previous matchup 58 to 40. Big Tex's Pillow Biters will have to put their quarterback depth to the test in next week's matchup, as Dak Prescott has his bye week.
Week 6 · Oct 17, 2017 03:32 pm ET
Demolition Derby
After losing last week while scoring their lowest point total for the year, Coach Nick Claeboe was no doubt looking for a solid performance from his squad this week. Well, Alcoholnics responded, scoring their highest point total for the season. They took everything from Pinko Commie Bastards but the kitchen sink, winning 80 to 35. That 45 point gap represents the biggest victory margin of the season.
The win evens up Alcoholnics' record at 3 - 3. The loss drops Pinko Commie Bastards to the last spot in the East Side division at 1 - 5.
The bulk of Alcoholnics' squad was playing during the early Sunday slate, and the early start time suited them real nice. They were powered by the duo of Rob Gronkowski and the Texans Defense/ST, who scored 16 and 19 points, respectively. The Texans intercepted Kevin Hogan three times, which included this gimme 82 yard pick-six.
Meanwhile, Coach Erran Yearty's squad just couldn't quite get it going. The Falcons Defense/ST (4 points) was the worst in a group of four marginally underperforming players. Underperforming is the new normal for the Falcons, who have gone three straight games without hitting their projected point total.
Pinko Commie Bastards were already facing long odds going into the Sunday late games. Any hope they had left evaporated after Jesse James and Giorgio Tavecchio scored only 5 points.
Softening the loss a bit, Pinko Commie Bastards looks like they may have found a real player off the discard pile. Coach Yearty took a flier on Adrian Peterson and saw him put up a very promising 18 points.
Alcoholnics will face off against The Brainers next week. The game will be a rematch from week four, and Coach Claeboe will no doubt be hoping that Russell Wilson can drop 20 points like he did last time.
As for Pinko Commie Bastards, they will square off against Zombie Werewolves next week. That team is not coming in very hot, after finishing this week with only 39 points. That will be a rematch from week four, when Pinko Commie Bastards lost 53 to 47.
Week 6 · Oct 17, 2017 03:32 pm ET
Climb Aboard
Coach William Hayes picked up the Ravens Defense/ST off the waiver wire this week and they paid immediate dividends. The Ravens was the key component as Big Tex's Pillow Biters ended up on top against Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 61 to 52. Their 18 point performance is no surprise, as they are currently the 3rd best Defense/ST in the league.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters also got a big effort from Jarvis Landry (4.4 points above expected). Landry scored 9 points, which is the most he's gotten so far this year.
Meanwhile, there were plenty of chefs cooking up this week's loss for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum. They were brought down by four underperformers, the worst of whom was Drew Brees (9 points).1 This is the 1st time this year that he was the worst starter on his team.
The win brings Big Tex's Pillow Biters' record to 4 - 2, while dropping Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum to 3 - 3.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will try to turn things around versus SkinFan next week. SkinFan will bring the league's top player so far, Leonard Fournette, into the game. As for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, they will match up with DenBro next week.
Week 6 · Oct 17, 2017 03:32 pm ET
Show's Over
DenBro came into this week's match-up on a three-game win streak, but SkinFan put an end to that, winning 65 to 58. SkinFan got some measure of revenge on DenBro for their matchup back in week three, when DenBro crushed SkinFan 79 to 45.
The win gets SkinFan back to .500 with a 3 - 3 record. The loss drops DenBro's record to 4 - 2.
SkinFan were led by the trio of Leonard Fournette, Kirk Cousins, and Mike Evans, who combined for 68% of their team's points. Cousins scored 21 points, which topped all quarterbacks this week. He executed the read-option perfectly to earn himself a rushing TD and provide what turned out to be the winning score against the 49ers.
Coach Tim Fabrizio's squad won despite bad games from Allen Hurns, the Redskins Defense/ST, and Javorius Allen, who together delivered 8 points.
Meanwhile, Matt Ryan was the main culprit in DenBro's loss, managing only 7 points.1 Coach Don Zimmerman have to be used to bad scores from Ryan, who has been the worst performer on DenBro more times than any other player. He has also been the worst performing starter in the league over the last three weeks.
Next week, SkinFan will be playing Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum lost this week, and will be looking to avoid their first back-to-back losses. Meanwhile, the West Side division lead will be at stake when DenBro takes on Big Tex's Pillow Biters next week.
Week 6 · Oct 17, 2017 03:32 pm ET
Sweet Mercy
Coach Chris Crowder really needed someone to lend him a hand and help end his three game losing streak. Coach Patrick jolle were only too happy to help. Homesick Abortions skated by Zombie Werewolves pretty easily, winning 55 to 39. Homesick Abortions picked up a lucky win, given that their score topped only two other teams this week.
The result gets both squads back to a .500 record at 3 - 3.
Homesick Abortions, who were favored to win the game, put forth a decent effort Sunday. Antonio Brown drove the bus, scoring 14 points. Brown managed to corral this tipped ball with one hand before turning on the afterburners to reach the end zone.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves were having a rough go of it. Aaron Rodgers was the culprit, scoring exactly zero points. Rodgers was taken down hard by Anthony Barr and broke his collarbone, forcing him to get surgery and probably ending his season.
A solid effort from Graham Gano mitigated the damage somewhat. It's also the 3rd straight week that he has outperformed his projections.
Going into Monday night, Zombie Werewolves were in a really tough spot. Coach Jolle needed Delanie Walker to come up with 16 points. Unfortunately, Walker had a disappointing game, scoring zero points, which wasn't nearly enough.
Coach Crowder earned his team points last week, and decided that he wanted extra points this week as well. He left Julio Jones and Derek Carr on the bench in favor of Golden Tate and Trevor Siemian, who were both expected to score less.
These great decisions gave Homesick Abortions a nice 11 point bonus. Coach Crowder's decisions this week allow him to relinquish his title as the worst gameday coach in the league (Coach Robert Wetzel wears the crown now).
Coach Crowder will bring that tactical skill to bear against Black Micahs next week. Black Micahs will have to play without DeAndre Hopkins, who has a bye week.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will collide with Pinko Commie Bastards next week. That squad is in the middle of a five game losing streak. These two teams squared off in week four, when Zombie Werewolves won 53 to 47.
Week 6 · Oct 17, 2017 03:32 pm ET
Showtime
Coach Micah Russell have to be kicking themself for their lineup decisions this week. They started two players that the experts thought should be riding the pine. One of those picks, Austin Hooper, worked out. The other pick, Chris Hogan, did not.
While these moves were somewhat defensible, they cost Black Micahs a total of 8 points, which ended up costing them the game, as Black Micahs (4 - 2) came up a little short versus The Brainers (2 - 4), losing 68 to 63.
Ryan Succop was the key contributor for The Brainers, dropping 21 points. That was the most that any kicker collected this week. His performance on Monday night took him from the 6th best kicker to the best kicker in the league.
Succop was joined by four other overperformers, including DeMarco Murray, who notched 10 points. The Brainers won despite bad games from the Broncos Defense/ST and C.J. Anderson, who together delivered 3 points.
Coach Russell had to be extra disappointed in certain underperformers this week. Otherwise high performing players Chris Hogan and the Jaguars Defense/ST combined to score 5 points. Hogan's performance broke his four game streak of surpassing his projections.
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse cannot be happy with how his team has played so far this season, but he has to be enjoying the recent turnaround, having won the past 2 games. He'll hope to keep that momentum going into next week's matchup with Alcoholnics. The Brainers have now been an underdog in both the last two weeks, and won both times. Maybe they'll get a bit more credit going into their next one.
Meanwhile, Black Micahs will take on Homesick Abortions next week.

Black Micahs were set up for an easy win in this one. They had scored the most points of any team over the last three weeks, while Homesick Abortions had scored the second fewest points of any team over the last three weeks. Nevertheless, it was Homesick Abortions that came through.
Homesick Abortions took down Black Micahs handily, winning 68 to 54. The win gets Homesick Abortions back above .500 at 4 - 3. Black Micahs are now 4 - 3 after suffering their first back-to-back losses of the season.
Homesick Abortions were a picture of symmetry, winning with a very balanced lineup. Derek Carr topped the quarterback average by 8 points to lead the team, while Christian McCaffrey fell only 4.5 points short of the average RB in bringing up the rear. Carr's 23 points represent the most he's had this year. With 0:00 on the clock, he found Michael Crabtree in the endzone to complete an epic comeback against the Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Black Micahs can place the blame for this loss squarely on Cam Newton, who scored no points. That made Newton the worst starter this week. His performance definitively ended a three game streak of beating the experts' projections.
As far as good performances for Black Micahs, The Jaguars Defense/ST stuck out with 18 points. It's another fine effort from the Jaguars, who are currently the 4th best player in the league.
Although only one wound up with a victory, both coaches made good decisions this week. Coach Micah Russell can hardly be blamed for this loss, as they set a perfect lineup this week. That wouldn't have happened if they had just played it safe. They started the Jaguars and Jake Elliott instead of the Steelers Defense/ST and Stephen Gostkowski, despite expert advice to do the exact opposite.
These decisions netted Coach Russell an extra 10 points. This is the first time this year that Coach Russell has set a perfect lineup.
Coach Chris Crowder has had the most stable lineup in the league, and this week that stability paid off. He went with Derek Carr and Mason Crosby over the higher ranked Trevor Siemian and Nick Novak.
These decisions boosted Homesick Abortions' final score by 26 points, which were the difference in the game. This makes it three weeks in a row that Coach Crowder has taught the experts a lesson in lineup management.
These teams will see a difference in the quality of their upcoming opponents. Black Micahs' next game will be against Alcoholnics in a rematch from week one. Black Micahs won the previous matchup by only 1 point. Alcoholnics won't have Jordy Nelson available to start in next week's contest.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions will be playing SkinFan. Bad timing for Homesick Abortions, as SkinFan will come into the matchup on a three game winning streak. That game will see both of this week's top tight ends square off, when O.J. Howard matches up against Jordan Reed.
Week 7 · Oct 24, 2017 12:39 pm ET
Cya!
SkinFan came into the game as the biggest underdog this week, but they didn't let that get them down. They stomped all over Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum 83 to 59. Blowouts are nothing new to Coach Tim Fabrizio, since SkinFan has been involved in the most blowout games of anybody in league so far.
The win brings SkinFan to 4 - 3, and sends them to the top of our internal power rankings. The loss was Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's 3rd in their last four games, bringing their record to 3 - 4.
Jordan Reed led a very balanced group of five overperformers for SkinFan this week, putting up 15 points.1 That was good for 2nd place among all tight ends this week. His performance also ended a five game streak of failing to perform at a league average level.
SkinFan also got a better-than-expected performance from Mike Evans, who beat his projections by 5.2 points. Evans did his part in the wild Bills/Bucs finish- dragging his toes to score this key late touchdown. SkinFan only had one underperfoming player, with Javorius Allen scoring only 2 points.2
Meanwhile, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had many underperformers, but Marcus Mariota stood out, recording only 4 points.3 Coach Robert Wetzel found out why he was available on the waiver wire this week.
Next week will feature a mirror image matchup as the 4 - 3 SkinFan will take on the 4 - 3 Homesick Abortions. The game will be a rematch from week one, but SkinFan will have Mike Evans available, who had his bye week during the first matchup. Meanwhile, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will take on DenBro next week.
Week 7 · Oct 24, 2017 12:39 pm ET
Draft Dividends
Pinko Commie Bastards showed off the form that earned them the worst record in the league going into this week. They got beat down by Zombie Werewolves, losing 59 to 36. With those 36 points, Pinko Commie Bastards were last in the league for the 2nd straight week.
Another defeat makes it six in a row for Pinko Commie Bastards, which leaves them with a 1 - 6 record. The win brings Zombie Werewolves to 4 - 3.
Coach Patrick jolle used early draft picks on LeSean McCoy and Doug Baldwin, and they came through for them this week. McCoy scored 15 points, while Baldwin scored 10. McCoy's 15 point performance made him the top performer on Zombie Werewolves for the first time this year.
Meanwhile, Adam Vinatieri stuck out as the worst performer for Pinko Commie Bastards, producing zero points. No other kicker scored fewer points than that this week. He was joined by six other underperformers, including Adrian Peterson, who scored only 1 point.
Pinko Commie Bastards only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Jason Witten scoring 8 points.1
Next week, Pinko Commie Bastards will take on the 4 - 3 Big Tex's Pillow Biters. Pinko Commie Bastards will be attempting to give Big Tex's Pillow Biters their first back-to-back losses.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will collide with The Brainers next week. That battle (featuring Carson Wentz for The Brainers) will be the first of a three straight games against tough quarterbacks (Deshaun Watson and Alex Smith are on the schedule in the following weeks).
Week 7 · Oct 24, 2017 12:39 pm ET
Next Time, I'll Even Try
It's not that hard to win when you have the league's top performer for the week, and Ezekiel Elliott was that player. DenBro slid by Big Tex's Pillow Biters, winning 79 to 74 behind 29 points from Elliott. After his performance this week, he moved up to being the 5th best player in the league.
DenBro also got the benefit of the 7th straight game that Zach Ertz exceeded his expectations. Kai Forbath was kept on DenBro's bench in the victory, but he didn't let that discourage him, as he went off for 24 points. No other player riding the pine did better this week.
Meanwhile, Big Tex's Pillow Biters had plenty of duds in the loss. Zach Miller was the worst of a four man group of underperformers, delivering only 1 point. The four overperformers on Coach William Hayes' squad did their part to balance things out (and then some). Dak Prescott was the best of them, scoring 27 points. Prescott threw 3 TDs for the third straight game, and also mixed in this cheeky straight up the middle TD run.
With the win, DenBro moved to 5 - 2, good for the top spot in the West Side division. The loss drops Big Tex's Pillow Biters' record to 4 - 3.
There's a favorable schedule ahead for both teams. Coach Don Zimmerman can rest a bit after this big victory since the next two games are against sub .500 teams, starting with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum next week. That contest will be a rematch from week four, when DenBro won 67 to 57.
As for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, they will square off against Pinko Commie Bastards. Coach Hayes will be happy to see that Pinko Commie Bastards is coming into next week's game having scored less than 50 points in their previous two games.
Week 7 · Oct 24, 2017 12:39 pm ET
Fly Like an Eagle
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse's gameday decisions have been the best in the league so far this season, and his brilliance was on display again this week. He started Ryan Succop instead of Brandon McManus, despite the experts' prediction that McManus should have played.
This decision gave The Brainers a nice 15 point bonus, which just made the final result that much more embarrassing as they destroyed Alcoholnics (3 - 4), winning 68 to 39.
The Brainers had never lost when Carson Wentz overperformed his expectations, and that held true again this week. The Brainers relied heavily on Wentz, who notched 27 points. He is on quite a hot streak, performing better than any other starter over the last three weeks. Of the many fantastic plays he made against the Redskins, turning this sure sack into a big run play had to be the most impressive.
Ryan Succop helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 7.8 points. Succop's 15 point performance is no surprise, as he is currently the 2nd best kicker in the league.
Meanwhile, the loss for Alcoholnics came down to a pretty simple factor: they didn't go anywhere. Collectively, they only managed to gain 205 yards rushing and receiving. Alcoholnics were practicing their manners as they put every other team ahead of themselves in the RuReYd category this week. They had three stooges in that category, with Melvin Gordon, Demaryius Thomas, and Jordy Nelson posting 66 total yards.
The Brainers will be going against Zombie Werewolves next week. The game will be a rematch from week five, when Carson Wentz went off for 26 points.
Alcoholnics' loss this week is especially bad as it represented the last easy game they will have for a while. The next three games are against winning teams, starting with Black Micahs next week. Adding to the difficulty, Alcoholnics will have to put their wide receiver depth to the test in that one, as Jordy Nelson has his bye week.
Week 8 · Oct 31, 2017 12:36 pm ET
End of the Line
Zombie Werewolves made sure that they didn't become the 4th straight team to lose to The Brainers. Zombie Werewolves ended up well ahead of The Brainers, winning 48 to 33. Zombie Werewolves were able to give The Brainers some payback for their week five matchup, when The Brainers thoroughly defeated Zombie Werewolves 70 to 52.
The win brings Zombie Werewolves' record to 5 - 3, while dropping The Brainers to 3 - 5.
LeSean McCoy separated himself from the rest of the crew on Zombie Werewolves, producing 14 points.1 This is the 2nd time this year that McCoy has paced Zombie Werewolves. He didn't need any of his patented juke moves to ice the Raiders game with this straight up the gut 48 yard TD.
Meanwhile, The Dolphins Defense/ST was clearly the weakest link for Coach Chuck Rittenhouse and the gang as he put up zero points. That makes it three straight games where the Dolphins have underperformed the league average Defense/ST.
Patrick Murray added to The Brainers' troubles, scoring only 4 points. Murray might be heading back to the waiver wire after getting picked up before this game. The Brainers only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with A.J. Green scoring 7 points.2
The outcome of this one would have been different if Coach Rittenhouse had gotten all of his lineup picks right. He went with Austin Seferian-Jenkins over the higher ranked Jimmy Graham.
This decision cost The Brainers a total of 12 points. If Coach Rittenhouse had left Seferian-Jenkins on the bench and also started the Broncos Defense/ST, The Brainers would have won the game.
Next week will see Zombie Werewolves taking on the 4 - 4 Black Micahs. Black Micahs will enter the game with Deshaun Watson, who has been the best player in the league so far.
Although The Brainers lost this game, on the bright side, Zombie Werewolves were the hardest test they will face for a while. Their next two games are against sub .500 teams, starting with Pinko Commie Bastards next week.
Week 8 · Oct 31, 2017 12:36 pm ET
Favorable Matchup
DenBro started week eight with the best record in the league, and finished week eight with the best record in the league. They demolished Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 67 to 43. The 67 points DenBro scored set the high mark for the league this week.
The defeat is the 3rd in a row for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, and puts their record at 3 - 5. The win brings DenBro to 6 - 2.
DenBro came in with the best performing running backs. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum came in with the 3rd worst. The results were unsurprising. DenBro saw Ezekiel Elliott carry that group with a 17 point effort. That was the most of any running back this week.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had two different players in the running back group come up short, none of whom were worse than Joe Mixon, who scored only 2 points. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum has never won when Mixon failed to hit his expected points, going 0 - 3.
The rest of Coach Don Zimmerman's lineup followed their running backs, scoring 46 more points. Of that crew, the Eagles Defense/ST led the way with 17 points. The Eagles' performance this week ended a six game streak of failing to hit their projections.
Next week will see DenBro taking on the 4 - 4 Alcoholnics. Alcoholnics will have to play without Rob Gronkowski, who has a bye week.
Coach Robert Wetzel should be on the lookout for four leaf clovers during the next game. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will face Homesick Abortions in a matchup of the two teams with the most lucky wins so far. That will be a rematch from week three, when Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum won 43 to 35.
Week 8 · Oct 31, 2017 12:36 pm ET
One More Makes Four
Homesick Abortions blew out SkinFan in week one. This week, Coach Tim Fabrizio got their revenge. SkinFan made it look easy against Homesick Abortions, winning 60 to 44.
The win makes it four in a row for SkinFan, which brings their record to 5 - 3. The loss drops Homesick Abortions' record to 4 - 4.
SkinFan did a decent job during Sunday's main action. Paul Richardson's 17 points were the key contribution. Richardson skied high to pull down this crucial catch with less than two minutes to go in the Texans game.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions decided the whole 'scoring points' thing was passe. Nick Novak really stunk it up, scoring only 1 point. Coach Chris Crowder was no doubt hoping for more from Novak's first venture off the bench.
Homesick Abortions were also hurt by Derek Carr falling 5.3 points short of the average quarterback. That was quite a falloff from last week, when he scored 23 points.
Things were not looking good for Homesick Abortions heading into Sunday night. Coach Crowder needed Antonio Brown to come up with 19 points. Brown gave a decent effort, but his 3 points weren't nearly enough.
SkinFan's next game will be against Big Tex's Pillow Biters in a rematch from week five. SkinFan won the previous matchup 68 to 63. Coach Fabrizio will no doubt be worried that Dak Prescott will drop another 25 points for Big Tex's Pillow Biters like he did last time.
Meanwhile, the two luckiest teams in the league will face off when Homesick Abortions takes on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum. Homesick Abortions might be feeling pretty confident about that game, as Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum limps in on a three game losing streak.
Week 8 · Oct 31, 2017 12:36 pm ET
Really?
Pinko Commie Bastards had gotten terrible production out their wide receivers this season (worst in the league), but this week it was a whole different story. Pinko Commie Bastards used a big game from their wide receivers to take down Big Tex's Pillow Biters 56 to 37. Alshon Jeffery scored 12 points, and Adam Thielen was close behind with 10. Jeffery used great body control and strength to fight off multiple defenders on his way to this 53 yards touchdown reception.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters are bound to have a hard time winning when Dak Prescott has a bad week, and that's just what happened. Prescott loomed large in the loss for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, notching 2 points.1 He fell farther short of his expected points than any other player this week. His performance was also the 3rd worst of any quarterback this season.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters also had to deal with a poor effort from Nelson Agholor (4 points below expected). Agholor's performance this week broke his three game streak of surpassing his projections.
The win brings Pinko Commie Bastards' record to 2 - 6, while dropping Big Tex's Pillow Biters to 4 - 4.
The strength of schedule diverges for these squads next week. The schedule for Pinko Commie Bastards brings The Brainers around. Points were in short supply for that team this week, as they could only scrounge up 33 of them. Pinko Commie Bastards won't have Tom Brady available to start in that contest.
As for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, they will match up with SkinFan next week. SkinFan will come into the game with some momentum, having posted back-to-back 60+ point games. Big Tex's Pillow Biters have now been the favorite in both their last two games, and failed to perform both times. The experts might not give them the benefit of the doubt in their next one.
Week 8 · Oct 31, 2017 12:36 pm ET
More than Enough
Coach Nick Claeboe picked the right time to add Harrison Butker to the squad. Butker led the way as Alcoholnics crushed Black Micahs, winning 66 to 49. He was a perfect 5/5 kicking field goals, including this beauty from 51 yards out.
Coach Claeboe also helped out his own cause by going against the experts and starting Alvin Kamara, who scored 9 points. The game would have been an even bigger blowout if Coach Claeboe had put Russell Wilson (28 points) in the lineup. Wilson's performance this week was better than every other bench-rider in the league.
Meanwhile, this week's loss for Black Micahs was a true group effort. They had five underperformers, with Cam Newton (8 points) being the worst.1 Newton's 8 points made him the worst starter on his team for the 4th time this season, which is more than any other player on Black Micahs.
Black Micahs also had to deal with a bad performance from Devin Funchess, who scored exactly zero points. Funchess falling short this week looks even worse in light of the fact that it came against the Buccaneers, who have been the 3rd worst defense against wide receivers so far this season.
Both teams now sit at four wins and four losses for the season.
Alcoholnics will try to make it two in a row versus DenBro next week. One of those teams will face a big comedown from this week, as they both won easily. Meanwhile, Black Micahs will be playing Zombie Werewolves next week.
Week 9 · Nov 07, 2017 01:07 pm ET
Out of the Darkness
Black Micahs felt the sting of a 30 point loss to Zombie Werewolves back in week three, and made darn sure there would be no repeat this week. Black Micahs destroyed Zombie Werewolves, winning 70 to 50. With the win, Black Micahs put an end to their three game losing streak.
The win brings Black Micahs' record to 5 - 4, while dropping Zombie Werewolves to 5 - 4.
Black Micahs won with a balanced effort, as five players outperformed their positional averages. Marshawn Lynch was the first among equals, putting up 14 points. Lynch took advantage of a 'phantom block' and then turned on the jets to score this touchdown.
Black Micahs also got a big effort from Travis Kelce (3.8 points above expected). A 9 point performance is all in a day's work for the 3rd best tight end in the league.
Doug Martin provided the only truly sour note for Black Micahs this week, as he scored zero points. Martin got eight carries, but couldn't break double digit yardage.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves had many underperformers, but the Bengals Defense/ST stood out, recording only 2 points.1 That made them the worst performer on Zombie Werewolves for the first time this year.
Coach Micah Russell did their part in the victory, setting a perfect lineup. That took more than just following the experts' advice. They went with Devin Funchess over the higher ranked Will Fuller.
This decision boosted Black Micahs' final score by 3 points, which just made the final result that much more embarrassing. Coach Russell have now set the most perfect lineups of anyone in the league.
Zombie Werewolves will be going against Alcoholnics next week. That contest will be a rematch from week two, when Zombie Werewolves won 63 to 53. Meanwhile, Black Micahs will take on Big Tex's Pillow Biters.
Week 9 · Nov 07, 2017 01:07 pm ET
Relief
Evan Engram's 9 points help get Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum back on track
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum get to go home happy for the first time in four weeks. They strolled past Homesick Abortions, winning 57 to 41. The win is more of the same for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, who won the last game with Homesick Abortions by the score of 43 to 35.
The loss drops Homesick Abortions to the last spot in the West Side division at 4 - 5. The win brings Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum to an identical 4 - 5.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum didn't have any huge performances this week, but also didn't have anybody who really dropped the ball. Evan Engram paced the team by beating the average tight end by 4.3 points, while Alex Collins (3.4 points worse than the average running back) was the worst on the team. Engram's 9 point performance made him the top performer on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum for the first time this year.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions really lost this game as a team. They were brought down by five underperformers, the worst of whom was O.J. Howard (-2 points). That was fewer than every other tight end this week.
On the coaching front, Coach Robert Wetzel followed the experts' advice for each position and ended up with a perfect lineup. This is the first time all season that Coach Wetzel has pulled that off.
These teams will see a difference in the quality of their upcoming opponents. Next week, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum will be playing The Brainers. The Brainers will have to play without Carson Wentz, who has a bye week.
Homesick Abortions will try to cool off DenBro next week. DenBro are coming in hot, having won three games in a row. DenBro brings in the best player in the league over the past three weeks: Ezekiel Elliott.
Week 9 · Nov 07, 2017 01:07 pm ET
Goin Streaking!
Coach Don Zimmerman has put together the best group of running backs, and they showed their mettle again this week. DenBro ran their way to a 58 to 41 win over Alcoholnics. Todd Gurley scored 16 points, while Ezekiel Elliott scored 10. Gurley blew through two defensive walls on this brilliant reception only to get tripped up right before the goal line.
Alvin Kamara did his best to give Alcoholnics a chance to win. Kamara scored 17 points, which topped all but one running back this week. Unfortunately, for Alcoholnics, he both began and ended the list of big performers on the squad.
The Bills Defense/ST was the main culprit in Alcoholnics' loss, scoring only 1 point.1 That's the fewest points that they've scored so far this year.
DenBro have now finished off three straight opponents after this win, giving them a record of 7 - 2. The loss drops Alcoholnics back below .500 at 4 - 5.
DenBro will face off against Homesick Abortions next week. These two teams squared off in week five, when DenBro won 53 to 48.
Alcoholnics' next three games are against winning teams, starting with Zombie Werewolves next week. Adding to the difficulty, Alcoholnics will have to put their quarterback depth to the test in that one, as Alex Smith has his bye week.
Week 9 · Nov 07, 2017 01:07 pm ET
Who Needs Em?
Big Tex's Pillow Biters have been relying on Dak Prescott all year, and he came through again this week. Prescott was the key component as Big Tex's Pillow Biters gave SkinFan a 51 to 30 point drubbing. Apparently, he must have felt bad after last week's 2 point effort.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters got the win despite leaving Jared Goff and his 28 points on the bench. Goff did better than any player actually in Big Tex's Pillow Biters' starting lineup this week.
Meanwhile, Jameis Winston stuck out as the worst performer for SkinFan, dropping only 1 point.1 That was the 3rd fewest of any quarterback this season.
The 49ers Defense/ST falling 5.1 points short of their expectations didn't help matters much either. It's yet another disappointing day for the 49ers, who have now underperformed the experts' predictions in five straight games.
SkinFan did get some solace this week in the form of Greg Zuerlein, who came up with 17 points. That was the most that any kicker collected this week.
The win gets Big Tex's Pillow Biters back above .500 at 5 - 4. The loss drops SkinFan's record to a matching 5 - 4.
Two 5 - 4 teams will do battle next week when Big Tex's Pillow Biters takes on Black Micahs. As for SkinFan, they will square off against Pinko Commie Bastards. SkinFan will have long odds to win if Pinko Commie Bastards scores another 82 points, like they did this week.
Week 9 · Nov 07, 2017 01:07 pm ET
Beat Down
It's probably been tough for Coach Erran Yearty to stay awake while following his recent games. The last four games have been blowouts, and this week was just more of the same. Pinko Commie Bastards thoroughly dominated The Brainers, winning 82 to 42. Pinko Commie Bastards have now scored 138 points over the last two weeks, which is quite a turnaround given that they were the lowest scoring team in the league at the beginning of that stretch.
Pinko Commie Bastards are now 3 - 6 after picking up their first back-to-back wins of the season. The loss drops The Brainers to 3 - 6, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings.
Alshon Jeffery was the clear leader on Pinko Commie Bastards this week, posting 16 points.1 That's the most points that he's scored so far this year. Despite Jeffery's big game, CBS Sports Heath Cummings still isn't ready to declare him as a must-start in all matchups.
Pinko Commie Bastards also got the highest score out of any Defense/ST this week courtesy of the Saints, who produced 15 points. Jack Doyle was the only underperforming player, scoring only 3 points.
Meanwhile, The Brainers saw seven different players underperform, and while none of them particularly stuck out, C.J. Anderson and his zero points was officially the worst.2 Anderson has now failed to top the league average running back in six straight games.
A.J. Green has to share in some of the blame as well, coming up with 3.6 fewer points than he was expected to. While Green wasn't able to do much in fantasy, he did manage to avoid a suspension next week for his part in this epic fight.
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse certainly can't blame the loss on Carson Wentz, who scored 23 points. That makes it five straight games of overperforming expectations for Wentz.
Coach Yearty netted his team points again this week, in a repeat of last week's performance. He started the Saints Defense/ST instead of the Falcons Defense/ST, despite the experts' prediction that the Falcons should have played.
This decision netted Coach Yearty an extra 8 points, which only added to Pinko Commie Bastards' domination. Coach Yearty hardly needs any more motivation to go against the experts, as he has taken more risks that any other coach in the league so far.
It was important for Pinko Commie Bastards to get the victory this week, as The Brainers will be the easiest game they will face for a while. The next three games are against winning teams, starting with SkinFan next week. That might mean that Pinko Commie Bastards will be an underdog for the third straight time. Not that Coach Yearty should let that bother him, given his record in the last two games.
Meanwhile, The Brainers will collide with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum next week. The Brainers will come into the next game having lost their last two. It's a big change from two weeks ago, when The Brainers had won their 3rd game in a row.
Week 10 · Nov 14, 2017 02:26 pm ET
Not Even Close
There were several blowouts this week, but none bigger than this one. Black Micahs pounded Big Tex's Pillow Biters into submission, winning 81 to 28. The 53 point margin that separated these teams represents the biggest blowout of the season so far.
With the win, Black Micahs moved to 6 - 4, good for the top spot in the East Side division. Big Tex's Pillow Biters are now 5 - 5 after losing three out of their last four games.
Cam Newton had been fairly quiet since week five's performance, but finally awoke from his slumber this week. Newton was a one-man wrecking crew, recording 29 points. No other quarterback scored more points than that this week. He gained 69 rushing yards on this simple zone read, his longest run since 2012.
Devin Funchess helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 11.6 points. Funchess' performance this week stopped his four game streak of not meeting his projections.
Coach William Hayes saw some familiar names among his bad players this week. Devonta Freeman, Mike Gillislee, and Dez Bryant continued to disappoint, combining for 1 point. Freeman's performances have been a good barometer for Big Tex's Pillow Biters this season, as they have gone 2 - 4 when he fails to meet his expectations, and 3 - 0 when he meets them. He left the Dallas game with a concussion (his 2nd this year) and is doubtful to play next week.
Adding to their problems, Big Tex's Pillow Biters' kicker, Stephen Hauschka, was the worst at his position this week. Big Tex's Pillow Biters only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Jarvis Landry scoring 8 points.1
Unfortunately for Black Micahs, they will play Pinko Commie Bastards next week, who is riding a three-game win streak. This game is a rematch, but it might not look the same as week five, since Pinko Commie Bastards will have the Saints Defense/ST available this time around.
Next week will feature a mirror image matchup when the 5 - 5 Big Tex's Pillow Biters take on the 5 - 5 Homesick Abortions. That will be a rematch from week four, when Big Tex's Pillow Biters won in a blowout.
Week 10 · Nov 14, 2017 02:26 pm ET
Marching In-gram
It was just another brilliant day at the office for Coach Chris Crowder- the best gameday decision-maker in the league this season. He left Lamar Miller, Julio Jones, and Nick Novak on the bench, starting three different players who were each expected to score less.
Incredibly, each of these decisions ended up being the right call. They gave Homesick Abortions a nice 26 point bonus, which only added to Homesick Abortions' domination as they stomped all over DenBro (7 - 3) 73 to 40.
Two of the key players in this fight were real life teammates, as Homesick Abortions' Mark Ingram squared off against Coby Fleener. While they were on the same team, they sure didn't deliver the same result. For Mark Ingram's part, he produced 24 points for Homesick Abortions. Ingram set the tone in the Saints blowout of the Bills by getting 25 yards on this early 4th and 1.
On the other hand, Coby Fleener was not living up to his star status, putting up zero points. Bad performances are pretty common these days for Fleener, who has now underperformed the experts' predictions in seven straight games.
The other players on Homesick Abortions had Ingram's back, coming up with 49 points. That group was led by Christian McCaffrey, who scored 14 points. McCaffrey set his high mark for the season with that effort.
Homesick Abortions' next game will be against Big Tex's Pillow Biters in a rematch from week four. Homesick Abortions ended up getting crushed in the previous matchup by 35 points. Coach Crowder will no doubt be worried that the Seahawks Defense/ST will drop another 19 points for Big Tex's Pillow Biters like he did last time.
As for DenBro, they will match up with The Brainers next week. DenBro might need a big game to win that matchup, as The Brainers comes into the game fresh off a 85 point performance.
Week 10 · Nov 14, 2017 02:26 pm ET
One Sided Affair
Coming into the game, The Brainers had scored the fewest points of any team over the last three weeks. They didn't dwell on the past this game though, as they scored a metric ton of points. Coach Chuck Rittenhouse's team demolished Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 85 to 60. The Brainers not only got the win, but posted the 3rd highest scoring game of the year.
The win brings The Brainers' record to 4 - 6, while dropping Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum to an identical 4 - 6.
DeMarco Murray was the key contributor for The Brainers, totaling 21 points. That performance was good for 4th place among all players this week.1
The Brainers also got the benefit of a 13 point performance from Jimmy Graham. While Graham did well in fantasy, he still only earned a 'C-' in this week's celebration grades. The Brainers only had one underperfoming player, with Alfred Morris scoring only 2 points.
Meanwhile, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum didn't have anybody who was too hot, or too cold, but this Goldilocks outcome was not 'just right'. The Rams Defense/ST topped the Defense/ST average by 6.6 points to lead the team, while Chandler Catanzaro fell only 3.8 points short of the average K in bringing up the rear.
Next week will see The Brainers taking on the 7 - 3 DenBro. DenBro lost this week, and will be looking to avoid their first back-to-back losses.
As for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, they will square off against Zombie Werewolves next week. Both teams will enter that game trying to recover from the beatings they each took this week.
Week 10 · Nov 14, 2017 02:26 pm ET
On a Tear
Pinko Commie Bastards came into the game on a three game streak of improving their point total. They broke their streak, but still got the W. Coach Erran Yearty's boys wound up with a solid victory against SkinFan, winning 54 to 44.
The victory makes it three in a row for Pinko Commie Bastards, and gives them a record of 4 - 6. The loss drops SkinFan's record to 5 - 5.
Pinko Commie Bastards got more than half their points from just two players: Adam Thielen and Tom Brady. Thielen scored 14 points, which made him the top performer on Pinko Commie Bastards for the first time this year. He helped his team 'leap' over the Redskins with this TD, and helped his team to a game of leap frog right after.
Bilal Powell has been let go by multiple fantasy squads so far this year, and this week he showed why. Powell was the worst of six underperformers, scoring -1 points.
SkinFan also had to deal with a poor effort from the Bears Defense/ST (9.3 points below expected). Coach Tim Fabrizio found out why they were available on the waiver wire this week.
SkinFan did get a couple of good, but ultimately futile, efforts from Kirk Cousins and Greg Zuerlein, who came up with a total of 38 points. It's another fine effort from Zuerlein, who is currently the best kicker in the league.
A perfect lineup would have given Coach Fabrizio a win in this one. They started Josh Doctson instead of Allen Hurns, despite the experts' prediction that Hurns should have played.
This decision shaved 2 points from SkinFan's score. If Coach Fabrizio had left Doctson on the bench and also started Kenyan Drake, SkinFan would have won the game.
Next week, Pinko Commie Bastards will take on the 6 - 4 Black Micahs. Black Micahs have been racking up the points recently, posting two straight 65+ point games. Pinko Commie Bastards will have to deal with Travis Kelce in that one, and then follow that up with matchups against fellow top tight ends Zach Ertz and Evan Engram.
Meanwhile, SkinFan will be playing Alcoholnics next week. SkinFan will come into this game a lot less confident than they would have just two weeks ago. Back then, they were on a four game winning streak, but now go into next week's game having lost their last two.
Week 10 · Nov 14, 2017 02:26 pm ET
Nothin Doin
Hopefully Coach Patrick jolle have been able to find excitement in the non-fantasy parts of their life. After last week's blowout, they were involved in another no-doubter this week (and lost again). Zombie Werewolves were on the losing side of a blowout, falling 32 to 53 at the hands of Alcoholnics. That point total sent Zombie Werewolves to the bottom of the points standings for the season.
The game evens up both teams' records at 5 - 5.
Alcoholnics got a nice group performance in the win, as four players beat their positional averages. Alvin Kamara was just a bit ahead of the others, producing 12 points.1 Kamara only needed 12 carries to reach a career-high 106 yards on the ground.
Alcoholnics also got a better-than-expected performance from JuJu Smith-Schuster, who beat his projections by 4.6 points. Smith-Schuster has now overperformed the experts' predictions in three straight games.
News off the field this week was not nearly as good for Alcoholnics though. Aaron Jones left the Bears game due to an MCL injury that will keep him out for the next 3-6 weeks.
Meanwhile, Tyrod Taylor loomed large in the loss for Zombie Werewolves, putting up zero points. That performance was worse than every other player this week.2 He hopefully has some credit left over from last week's 20 point performance.
Coach Jolle didn't do their team any favors by starting Kelvin Benjamin against the experts' advice. Benjamin contributed only 2 points.
The schedule for Alcoholnics brings SkinFan around next week. Coach Claeboe can look forward to facing SkinFan at an opportune time. SkinFan has scored less than 45 points in their last two games heading into this one. Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will collide with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 11 · Nov 21, 2017 12:36 pm ET
Best Seat in the House
DenBro had the best record in the league coming into this game, but unfortunately for Coach Don Zimmerman, the past was not prelude. DenBro got beat by The Brainers, 61 to 52.
After suffering their first back-to-back losses of the season, DenBro sits at 7 - 4. The win brings The Brainers to 5 - 6.
The Brainers had several players step up in the win, as four starters beat their positional averages. Jimmy Graham was the best of the bunch, scoring 10 points.1 Graham topped all but one tight end this week with that performance.
Carson Wentz helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 4.5 points. That makes it six straight games of overperforming expectations for Wentz.
The Brainers would have won by a more comfortable margin if The Brainers had Keenan Allen and his 19 points in the starting lineup. No other player riding the pine did better this week.
DenBro, meanwhile, were having a terrible time moving the ball down the field, with the whole team gaining only 214 yards. That was the lowest yards gained total of any team this week. There's no pointing fingers in DenBro's loss as they failed all over the place. Emmanuel Sanders was the worst of a four man group of underperformers, racking up only 15 total yards.
Coach Chuck Rittenhouse cannot be happy with how his team has played this season, but he has to be enjoying the recent turnaround, having won the past 2 games. He'll hope to keep that momentum going into next week's matchup with Homesick Abortions. Homesick Abortions will come into the game with some momentum, having posted back-to-back 70+ point games.
As for DenBro, they will match up with Pinko Commie Bastards next week.
Week 11 · Nov 21, 2017 12:36 pm ET
No Threat
Coach Chris Crowder looked like he was trying to give away this game with his lineup decisions, but the team just wouldn't quit. Homesick Abortions made it look easy against Big Tex's Pillow Biters, winning 85 to 52. Blowouts are typical for these teams these days. Homesick Abortions has been involved in two straight blowout games, while this is the 3rd straight blowout game for Big Tex's Pillow Biters.
The win gets Homesick Abortions back above .500 at 6 - 5. The loss drops Big Tex's Pillow Biters back below .500 at 5 - 6.
Homesick Abortions had a two man team in Antonio Brown and the Chargers Defense/ST, who together came up with 56% of Homesick Abortions' points. Brown himself scored 25 points, which set the new high mark for all wide receivers this season. He made an absolutely unfair helmet catch for this touchdown against the Titans.
Homesick Abortions also got a big effort from Mark Ingram (5 points above expected). Ingram has become something of a lodestar for Homesick Abortions, as they have never lost when he overperforms his expectations, going 3 - 0. Although Coach Crowder got the win, he cannot have been happy with Mason Crosby's performance this week. Crosby failed to show up, scoring zero points.
Dak Prescott has been clutch for Big Tex's Pillow Biters this year, but failed to show up this week. Prescott was clearly the weakest link for Coach William Hayes and the gang as he scored -6 points. He fell farther short of his expected points than any other player this week. His performance was also the worst of any player this season.
On the coaching front, both sides made mistakes this week. While Coach Crowder might have gotten the victory, it wasn't due to his efforts. He went with Mason Crosby over the higher ranked Nick Novak. This terrible decision took a 18 point chunk out of Homesick Abortions' final score.
As for Coach Hayes, he started Tyreek Hill instead of Jarvis Landry, despite the experts' prediction that Landry should have played. This decision cost Big Tex's Pillow Biters a total of 5 points, which--thankfully for Coach Hayes--didn't matter much this game. After his decisions this week, Coach Hayes has now cost his team points for the season (3 points worse than the experts).
Next week will see Homesick Abortions taking on the 5 - 6 Brainers. That game will see both of this week's top wide receivers square off, when Antonio Brown matches up against Keenan Allen.
Meanwhile, Big Tex's Pillow Biters will take on Alcoholnics next week. Alcoholnics will get to slot Alvin Kamara into the lineup, who has been the best player in the league over the past three weeks.
Week 11 · Nov 21, 2017 12:36 pm ET
The Real McCoy
Zombie Werewolves came into the game as the biggest underdog this week, but they didn't let that get them down. They got the job done against Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, winning 64 to 52. The 64 points that Zombie Werewolves dropped were the most they scored this year.
The loss leaves Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum now with the worst record in the league at 4 - 7. The win brings Zombie Werewolves to 6 - 5.
Zombie Werewolves relied heavily on LeSean McCoy, who totaled 17 points. That was the most of any running back this week. He did great on the field, and did a great job predicting his quarterback's performance before the game (not that he's probably happy about that 2nd part).
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had never won when Joe Mixon failed to hit his expected points, and that held true again this week. Mixon was the worst of five underperformers, putting up 2 points.1 That made him the worst performer on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum for the first time this year.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Dion Lewis scoring 10 points.2
Coach Patrick jolle cost their team points last week, and did it again this week. They went with Jared Cook over the higher ranked Marcedes Lewis.
This decision shaved 6 points from Zombie Werewolves' score, which ultimately didn't make a difference in the final outcome. Coach Jolle have had their hands full trying to manage Lewis, as he has averaged 3.5 points on the bench and 1.5 points in the starting lineup.
The strength of schedule diverges for these squads next week. Zombie Werewolves' victory over a struggling team bodes well for the squad, as its upcoming schedule doesn't get any harder. The next two games are against sub .500 teams, starting with SkinFan next week. SkinFan will come into the matchup on a three game losing streak.
As for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, they will square off against Black Micahs. Black Micahs will bring the league's top player, the Jaguars Defense/ST, into the game.
Week 11 · Nov 21, 2017 12:36 pm ET
Fortunate Son
Alcoholnics didn't have too much trouble with SkinFan this week, winning 51 to 38. Coach Nick Claeboe should thank his lucky stars he drew SkinFan for this week's contest, since his squad would have lost to EVERY other team this week.
With the win, Alcoholnics moved to 6 - 5, good for the top spot in the East Side division. The loss is the 3rd straight for SkinFan, putting their record at 5 - 6.
Alcoholnics had a three-man strike force with Alvin Kamara, Melvin Gordon, and Demaryius Thomas combining for 32 points. Kamara hasn't been messing around recently, performing better than any other starter over the last three weeks. He not only got through four defenders for this game-tying touchdown, but somehow did it while juggling the football.
Despite winning, Alcoholnics struggled to score points due to five underperforming players, of whom Alex Smith (1 point) was the worst. Coach Claeboe has to be used to bad scores from Smith, who has been the worst performer on Alcoholnics more times than any other player.
Meanwhile, Coach Tim Fabrizio will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. SkinFan had seven underperformers, with Greg Zuerlein (1 point) being the worst.1 That's the fewest points that he's scored this year. His performance this week also ended a four game streak of beating the league average.
Another underperformer, running back Kenyan Drake, was the worst at his position.
Alcoholnics will face off against Big Tex's Pillow Biters next week. Meanwhile, SkinFan will be playing Zombie Werewolves.
Week 11 · Nov 21, 2017 12:36 pm ET
More Please
Black Micahs blew out Pinko Commie Bastards in week five. This week, Coach Erran Yearty got his revenge. Pinko Commie Bastards crushed Black Micahs, winning 92 to 61. Pinko Commie Bastards' point total was the 2nd highest of any team this season.
The win brings Pinko Commie Bastards' winning streak to four games, which gives them a 5 - 6 record. The loss drops Black Micahs' record to 6 - 5.
Pinko Commie Bastards got good efforts from almost everyone on the squad, with seven players topping their positional averages. Chris Boswell was the first among equals, delivering 19 points.1 That was good for 2nd place among all kickers this week.
Another player contributing was Tom Brady, who came up with 22 points. Brady's performance late on Sunday took him from the 4th best quarterback to the 3rd best quarterback in the league. The only real damper on Pinko Commie Bastards' victory came from the Saints Defense/ST, who scored 2 points.
Meanwhile, Jay Cutler stuck out as the worst performer for Black Micahs, delivering zero points.2 Cutler might be heading back to the waiver wire after getting picked up before this game.
Next week, Pinko Commie Bastards will be playing DenBro. Meanwhile, Black Micahs will collide with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 12 · Nov 28, 2017 12:45 pm ET
No Streak For You!
Pinko Commie Bastards entered this week's game with a four game winning streak, but couldn't keep it going against DenBro. DenBro got past Pinko Commie Bastards without much trouble, winning 63 to 49. The win brings DenBro's record to 8 - 4, while dropping Pinko Commie Bastards to 5 - 7.
DenBro finished Sunday's main action with a respectable number of points. Zach Ertz carried the water, scoring 11 points. No surprise there, as he is currently the 2nd best tight end in the league.
Meanwhile, Pinko Commie Bastards were sputtering along with a less than stellar performance. They had four underperformers, with Jordan Howard (zero points) bringing up the rear. Howard's zero points made him the worst starter on his team for the 2nd time this season.
Pinko Commie Bastards faced a really steep climb going into Sunday night. Coach Erran Yearty needed Chris Boswell to come up with 21 points. Unfortunately, Boswell had a disappointing game, scoring 7 points, which wasn't nearly enough.
Coach Yearty could have won this game with the right lineup. Perhaps scared off by Sammy Watkins's 1 point performance last week, Coach Yearty left him on the bench in favor of Adam Thielen, despite the experts' prediction that Watkins should have played.
This decision took a 6 point chunk out of Pinko Commie Bastards' final score. If Coach Yearty had left Adam Thielen on the bench and also started Adrian Peterson, Adam Vinatieri, and the Saints Defense/ST (which, granted, would have taken some serious foresight), Pinko Commie Bastards would have won the game.
DenBro will be going against Black Micahs next week. The scoreboard operator might be kept busy in that one, as those are the two highest scoring teams in the league. As for Pinko Commie Bastards, they will take on Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum in a battle of two 5 - 7 teams.
Week 12 · Nov 28, 2017 12:45 pm ET
Deluge
Homesick Abortions walked away with a nice 85 to 76 win this week against The Brainers. Taking the loss, Coach Chuck Rittenhouse can at least take solace in the fact that he helped combine for the highest total score this season.
The win brings Homesick Abortions to 7 - 5, and sends them to the top of our internal power rankings. The loss drops The Brainers' record to 5 - 7.
Homesick Abortions had the good fortune of having the league's best player this week in Julio Jones.1 Jones teamed up with Antonio Brown to rack up 47 points. Jones' performance this week ended a four game streak of failing to hit his projections. He easily beat the defender on this touchdown, but needed some serious acrobatics to beat the sideline.
Meanwhile, Jay Ajayi and A.J. Green were double trouble for The Brainers, together recording only 4 points. This is the first time this year that Ajayi has been the worst starter on his team.
In most other games, The Brainers' five overperforming players (led by Carson Wentz, 20 points) would have brought home a win. Wentz's 20 point performance this week moves him up to being the best player in the league this season.
Despite the high point totals, this wasn't a well coached game on either side. Coach Crowder started O.J. Howard instead of Kyle Rudolph, despite the experts' prediction that Rudolph should have played.
This terrible decision cost Homesick Abortions a total of 13 points. It also made Coach Crowder the worst performing gameday coach this week.
In addition to the loss, Coach Rittenhouse didn't exactly bolster his 'Coach of the Year' campaign. He went with Carson Wentz over the higher ranked Ben Roethlisberger.
This decision shaved 6 points from The Brainers' score, which--thankfully for Coach Rittenhouse--didn't matter much this game. It did make it back-to-back weeks now where Coach Rittenhouse has cost his team points.
These teams will see a difference in the quality of their upcoming opponents. Something has to give next week when Homesick Abortions and Alcoholnics clash, as they each come into the game on three game winning streaks.
As for The Brainers, they will match up with SkinFan. The Brainers will get to face SkinFan while that squad is in the middle of a four game losing streak.
Week 12 · Nov 28, 2017 12:45 pm ET
Don't Test Me
Coming into the game, SkinFan had scored fewer points than anyone else in the last three weeks. True to form, they got weak results this week. Coach Tim Fabrizio's squad lost to Zombie Werewolves, 49 to 43.
The loss makes it four in a row for SkinFan, dropping their record to 5 - 7. The win brings Zombie Werewolves to 7 - 5.
Tevin Coleman separated himself from the rest of the crew on Zombie Werewolves, tallying 16 points. That's the most points that he's scored this year.
Meanwhile, Leonard Fournette and Devontae Booker were both working off the same playbook this week, totaling only 1 point for SkinFan. Booker has now underperformed the league average running back in four straight games. SkinFan only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Matt Bryant scoring 11 points.1
Next week, Zombie Werewolves will take on the 5 - 7 Big Tex's Pillow Biters. That team will limp into the contest having posted only 36 points this week. Meanwhile, SkinFan will be playing The Brainers.
Week 12 · Nov 28, 2017 12:45 pm ET
Embarrassment of Riches
With how his recent games have been going, it wouldn't be surprising if Coach William Hayes was caught napping on the sideline. The previous three games were blowouts, and this week was nothing new. Big Tex's Pillow Biters didn't even sniff the winner's podium, losing to Alcoholnics 67 to 36. Big Tex's Pillow Biters secured the worst team performance in the league this week with that 36 point total.
The loss drops Big Tex's Pillow Biters to 5 - 7, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings. Alcoholnics have now won three games in a row, bringing their record to 7 - 5.
Alvin Kamara has been the key player throughout Alcoholnics's winning streak, and came through again this week. Kamara joined up with Rob Gronkowski to score 57% of Alcoholnics' points. Kamara scored 22 points, which were the most that any running back collected this week. He spun out of a tackle before hurdling another defender on this impressive short gain.
Marvin Jones was kept on Alcoholnics' bench in the victory, but he didn't let that discourage him, as he went off for 17 points. Jones has been making his case to start recently, having scored 27 points over the past two weeks.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters had never won when Dak Prescott failed to hit his expected points, and that held true again this week. Prescott was the main culprit in Big Tex's Pillow Biters' loss, managing -1 points. He has now failed to throw a TD pass in three straight games.
Kareem Hunt falling 8.2 points short of his expectations didn't help matters much either. Hunt's bad day looks even worse in light of the fact that he was going up against the Bills, who have been the worst defense against running backs this season. Big Tex's Pillow Biters only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Latavius Murray scoring 10 points.1
Something has to give next week when Alcoholnics and Homesick Abortions clash, as they each come into the game on three game winning streaks. In addition, Homesick Abortions posted a cool 85 points this week. Meanwhile, Big Tex's Pillow Biters will take on Zombie Werewolves.
Week 13 · Dec 05, 2017 12:31 pm ET
Cat Power
The Brainers exceeded their expectations for three straight weeks coming into this game, did it again, and were rewarded with a victory. They ended up on top against SkinFan, winning 76 to 66.
The win was The Brainers' 3rd in their last four games, bringing their record to 6 - 7. This loss brings SkinFan's losing streak to five in a row, which leaves them with a 5 - 8 record.
When Coach Chuck Rittenhouse entertained thoughts of winning this game, he probably didn't include the two players that ended up leading the way. A.J. Green scored 15 points, and Alfred Morris was close behind with 12. A good performance by Green has been crucial for The Brainers all year, as they have gone 4 - 3 when he exceeds expectations, and 1 - 4 when he doesn't. He used a nice little bump on the DB to get WIDE open on this easy touchdown catch.
The Brainers overcame bad performances from three players: DeMarco Murray, Carson Wentz, and Ryan Succop, who collectively came up with 18 points. Coach Rittenhouse has to be used to bad scores from Murray, who has been the worst performer on The Brainers more times than any other player.
Meanwhile, Mike Evans loomed large in the loss for SkinFan, tallying 1 point. That makes it five straight games where Evans has underperformed the league average wide receiver.
Kirk Cousins has to share in some of the blame as well, coming up with 5.2 fewer points than he was expected to. Cousins' performance this week broke his three game streak of surpassing his projections.
SkinFan will face off against Alcoholnics next week. Unfortunately for SkinFan, Alcoholnics are coming into their matchup on a four game winning streak. As for The Brainers, they will match up with Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum.
Week 13 · Dec 05, 2017 12:31 pm ET
Cruising
After getting knocked out of the playoffs by Pinko Commie Bastards last year, Coach Robert Wetzel had a chance to exact some revenge, and they took advantage of it. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum gave Pinko Commie Bastards a 65 to 37 point drubbing. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum set their new high mark for the season with those 65 points.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum got their first back-to-back wins of the season, bringing their record to 6 - 7. The loss drops Pinko Commie Bastards to the last spot in the East Side division at 5 - 8.
Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum had almost all of their firepower going off before the end of the Sunday early games, and they got Coach Wetzel's squad off to a solid start. They were powered by Justin Tucker, who scored 17 points. Tucker has now overperformed the experts' predictions in seven straight games.
Meanwhile, Coach Erran Yearty's squad was an absolute embarrassment. They had three laggards, with Tom Brady's 3 points being the worst performance. Brady's performance this week ended a three game streak of beating the experts' projections.
Pinko Commie Bastards were also hurt by the Buccaneers Defense/ST falling 6.1 points short of the average Defense/ST. Coach Yearty found out why they were available on the waiver wire this week.
Going into the Sunday late games, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum were already looking good. It was over for good after the Rams Defense/ST dropped 17 points.
Next week will see Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum taking on the 6 - 7 Brainers. The Brainers have been racking up the points recently, posting two straight 70+ point games. The game will be a rematch from week ten, and Coach Wetzel needs to be concerned about DeMarco Murray, who scored 21 points for The Brainers the last time these two teams met.
As for Pinko Commie Bastards, they will square off against DenBro next week. That team is not coming in very hot, after finishing this week with only 42 points. These two teams squared off in week twelve, when Pinko Commie Bastards lost 63 to 49.
Week 13 · Dec 05, 2017 12:31 pm ET
Back on Track
Coach William Hayes may have forgotten what it was like to win after losing three straight. Zombie Werewolves were friendly enough to remind him. Big Tex's Pillow Biters earned a nice victory over Zombie Werewolves, winning 52 to 46. Big Tex's Pillow Biters won despite having the 4th lowest scoring total in the league this week.
The win brings Big Tex's Pillow Biters' record to 6 - 7, while dropping Zombie Werewolves to 7 - 6.
Big Tex's Pillow Biters were led by the trio of the Ravens Defense/ST, Dez Bryant, and Jared Goff, who combined for 71% of their team's points. Bryant's performance this week stopped his five game streak of not meeting his projections.
Given their low point total, it's not surprising that Big Tex's Pillow Biters had several underperformers (five to be exact). Stephen Hauschka was the worst of them, scoring only 4 points.1 That made him the worst performer on Big Tex's Pillow Biters for the first time this year.
Although they took the loss, Zombie Werewolves got a big game from the Dolphins Defense/ST. The Dolphins scored 22 points, which were the most that any Defense/ST collected this week. Unfortunately for Zombie Werewolves, they were the only player on the whole team that had a legit good performance.
Zombie Werewolves had many underperformers, but Tyrod Taylor stood out, recording zero points. That made Taylor the worst starter this week.
Coach Patrick jolle have to place a big part of the blame for this loss on themself. They started Tevin Coleman instead of Alex Collins, despite the experts' prediction that Collins should have played.
This decision took a 14 point chunk out of Zombie Werewolves' final score, which cost them the game. Coach Jolle have been outsmarted by the experts more than any other coach in the league this season, having cost their team 30 points.
Both teams have a tough upcoming schedule. Next week will see Big Tex's Pillow Biters taking on the 7 - 6 Black Micahs. Coach Micah Russell's team will come into the game with some momentum, having posted 89 points this week.
Meanwhile, Zombie Werewolves will take on Homesick Abortions. Homesick Abortions will get to start the league's hottest player in Antonio Brown.
Week 13 · Dec 05, 2017 12:31 pm ET
No Chance
There were no cracks in the experts' crystal balls when they predicted that Black Micahs would score the most points this week. They left DenBro wondering where it all went wrong, winning 89 to 42. The 47 points separating these teams made it this week's biggest blowout.
The win gets Black Micahs back above .500 at 7 - 6. Thanks to the loss, DenBro have now come out on the losing end of three of their last four games, moving their record to 8 - 5.
Black Micahs were hot right out of the gate early on Sunday. Travis Kelce led the way, scoring 16 points. Kelce got behind the defense on this play for his 2nd touchdown in the first five minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Coach Don Zimmerman's squad was taking a collective personal day. DeSean Jackson was the worst of a three man group of underperformers, scoring only 1 point.
Black Micahs were already in good shape going into the Sunday late games. Any doubt in the outcome was removed after Marshawn Lynch scored 13 points. A good performance for Black Micahs by Le'Veon Bell on Monday night just put a little bit of salt in DenBro's wounds.
Black Micahs will get a chance to avenge the largest loss that any team has suffered this season (53 points) when they rematch against Big Tex's Pillow Biters next week. However, Black Micahs were without Travis Kelce during that game.
Meanwhile, DenBro will collide with Pinko Commie Bastards next week. That contest will be a rematch from week twelve, when DenBro won 63 to 49.
Week 13 · Dec 05, 2017 12:31 pm ET
World's Best Cheerleader
The week was a successful one for Alcoholnics, and nobody deserves more credit than Coach Nick Claeboe. He left Vernon Davis and Demaryius Thomas on the bench in favor of Rob Gronkowski and Marvin Jones, who were both expected to score less.
These great decisions netted Coach Claeboe an extra 10 points and were the difference in the game, as Alcoholnics (8 - 5) got past Homesick Abortions (7 - 6), winning 69 to 66.
Alvin Kamara and Russell Wilson were the prime movers for Alcoholnics, racking up 18 and 20 points, respectively. Kamara's 18 points topped all running backs this week.
Alcoholnics also got a better-than-expected performance from Rob Gronkowski, who beat his projections by 7 points. Gronk will be taking a one week break from football next week after this indefensible late hit on Tre'Davious White.
Alcoholnics would have won by a more comfortable margin if Coach Claeboe had put Alex Smith (31 points) in the lineup. That was the 3rd most of any player this season.
Meanwhile, Homesick Abortions can place the blame for this loss squarely on Julio Jones, who scored only 1 point. Jones' momentum from last week's 25 point performance apparently didn't carry over.
The schedule for Alcoholnics brings SkinFan around next week. Alcoholnics might be feeling pretty confident about that game, as SkinFan limps in on a five game losing streak. Next week will feature a mirror image matchup when the 7 - 6 Homesick Abortions take on the 7 - 6 Zombie Werewolves.

Special Delivery
Entering the game, Homesick Abortions had scored more points in the last three weeks than any other team. This week they didn't get much, but it didn't matter at all. Coach Chris Crowder's team wound up with a solid victory margin against Zombie Werewolves, winning 45 to 39. The win must seem like deja vu for Homesick Abortions, who won the last game with Zombie Werewolves by a 55 to 39 margin.
Homesick Abortions improve to 8 - 6 after winning four out of their last five games. The loss drops Zombie Werewolves' record to 7 - 7.
Homesick Abortions were led by the tag team of Antonio Brown and Kyle Rudolph, who together racked up 18 points. Brown has been on fire of late, putting up more points over the last three weeks than any other starter. A good performance by Brown has been critical for Homesick Abortions this season, as they have gone 6 - 2 when he exceeds his expectations, and 2 - 3 when he doesn't.
Despite winning, Homesick Abortions struggled to score points due to six underperforming players, of whom Christian McCaffrey (1 point) was the worst. Coach Crowder has to be used to bad scores from McCaffrey, who has been the worst performer on Homesick Abortions more times than any other player.
Meanwhile, there were plenty of chefs cooking up this week's loss for Zombie Werewolves. They had seven underperformers, with Tevin Coleman (1 point) being the worst.1 Coleman's 1 point performance made him the worst performer on Zombie Werewolves for the first time this year.
The Vikings Defense/ST falling 5.7 points short of their expectations didn't help matters much either. The Vikings have now failed to top the league average Defense/ST in five straight games.
LeSean McCoy was the only player on the team that didn't underperform, scoring 13 points. McCoy showed that even a snowpocalypse wasn't enough to keep him from breaking out the juke stick.

Wish Granted
After scoring their high point total for the season last week, Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum followed it up this week with their season low...but it didn't matter. They had just enough against The Brainers, winning 40 to 37. Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum would have only beaten one other team this week, so Coach Robert Wetzel got pretty lucky with the schedule.
The win makes it three in a row for Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum, which brings their record to 7 - 7. The loss drops The Brainers' record to 6 - 8.
Throughout Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's winning streak, Justin Tucker has been coming up with big performances. This week was no different. Tucker joined up with Drew Brees to score 55% of Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum's points. That makes it seven straight games of overperforming expectations for Tucker.
There were six underperformers keeping Lo Pan's House of Dim Sum from a proper victory, with Dion Lewis (2 points) being the worst of them.1 Underperforming is the new normal for Lewis, who has gone three straight games without hitting his projected point total.
Meanwhile, it will be difficult for Coach Chuck Rittenhouse to fault any one player for the loss. Ryan Succop was the worst of a seven man group of underperformers on The Brainers, putting up only 1 point.2 Succop has now been the worst starter on his team two times this season.
The Brainers also had to deal with a poor effort from A.J. Green (4.8 points below expected). Green's performances have closely tracked the fortunes of The Brainers this season, as they have gone 1 - 5 when he fails to meet his expectations, and 4 - 3 when he meets them.
Carson Wentz was the only player on The Brainers that performed above average, scoring 23 points. Wentz performed his usual magic before suffering an ACL injury that will end his season.

Baby Step
Coach Tim Fabrizio's long fantasy nightmare is finally over, as SkinFan's five game losing streak is no more. SkinFan skated by Alcoholnics pretty easily, winning 55 to 41. With the win, SkinFan put an end to Alcoholnics' four-game win streak.
The win brings SkinFan's record to 6 - 8, while dropping Alcoholnics to 8 - 6.
Leonard Fournette led a very balanced group of five overperformers for SkinFan this week, dropping 11 points.1 SkinFan got the win despite leaving Blake Bortles and his 16 points on the bench. Coach Fabrizio may want to consider putting Bortles in the starting lineup, after he notched 51 points in the last three weeks.
Alcoholnics suffered from a few bad performances from some unexpected quarters this week. Alvin Kamara scored 1 point, while Robby Anderson scored 1. Kamara must have gotten tired from racking up 18 points last week.
Adding to their problems, Alcoholnics' quarterback, Alex Smith, was the worst at his position this week. The only real legit performance that Alcoholnics got came courtesy of Harrison Butker, who scored 17 points. Butker's performance this week ended a three game streak of failing to hit his projections.

I'm Kind of a Big Deal
Black Micahs put a 53 point hurting on Big Tex's Pillow Biters in week ten, and came back for seconds this week. In the only blowout this week, Black Micahs crushed Big Tex's Pillow Biters, winning 99 to 61. Besides the victory, Coach Micah Russell can brag that they posted the highest score in the league so far.
The loss was Big Tex's Pillow Biters' 4th in their last five games, bringing their record to 6 - 8. The win brings Black Micahs to 8 - 6.
Le'Veon Bell was the clear leader on Black Micahs this week, producing 23 points. That was good for 2nd place among all players this week. More good might be coming from Bell, who has improved his performance in each of the last three weeks.
Black Micahs also got a big effort from DeAndre Hopkins (7.8 points above expected). Hopkins paired up with his old running buddy TJ Yates and showed once again that he can make any quarterback look good (nice pass though TJ). Travis Kelce was the only underperforming player, scoring only 3 points.
Meanwhile, Coach William Hayes will find no easy scapegoat for this week's loss. Big Tex's Pillow Biters were brought down by four underperformers, the worst of whom was Stephen Hauschka (1 point).1 That's the fewest points that he's scored this year.
As far as good performances for Big Tex's Pillow Biters, Dak Prescott stuck out with 23 points. Prescott set a new career-high with 332 passing yards.
On the coaching front, the difference in tactical skill showed this week. Coach Russell did their part to secure the victory. They went with Case Keenum over the higher ranked Cam Newton.
This decision boosted Black Micahs' final score by 6 points, which just made the final result that much more embarrassing. It also gave Coach Russell their 2nd perfect lineup, which is more than any other coach.
Coach Hayes has made some poor lineup calls this week, but that's nothing new for one of the league's bottom-ranked coaches. He started Stephen Hauschka instead of Ka'imi Fairbairn, despite the experts' prediction that Fairbairn should have played.
This decision cost Big Tex's Pillow Biters a total of 5 points. Coach Hayes has now cost his team points in both of the last two weeks.

Monster
Pinko Commie Bastards failed to show up for last week's contest, but turned things way around this week. They made it past DenBro, winning 65 to 61. The win brings Pinko Commie Bastards' record to 6 - 8, while dropping DenBro to 8 - 6.
Jordan Howard and Chris Boswell were the key contributors for Pinko Commie Bastards, recording 19 points each. Howard's 19 points represent the most he's had this year. That's a big turnaround for Howard, who last week scored only 1 point.
Meanwhile, DenBro had plenty of duds in the loss. They were brought down by four underperformers, the worst of whom was Wil Lutz (5 points).1 Coach Don Zimmerman certainly can't blame the loss on Todd Gurley, who scored 17 points. It's almost routine at this point to see Gurley hurdling a defender, but it's still fun to watch.

CBS Season Recap · Jan 04, 2018 12:42 pm ET
A Year in Review
All ten teams started the 2018 season with dreams of a championship, but only Alcoholnics and Coach Nick Claeboe made it a reality. Alcoholnics finished off 2017 with a 80 to 54 victory over DenBro, giving them a 10 - 6 final record. Their good standing can be attributed, in part, to their running backs, who ranked 2nd in the league.
When it came to running backs however, nobody had a better group than DenBro, who got 19.07 points per game out of the position. Meanwhile, Coach Chuck Rittenhouse could only dream about good running back play this year, as The Brainers' running backs were the worst in the league, coming up with only 7.71 points per game. C.J. Anderson shares a big part of the blame for that lackluster group's performance, averaging 1.8 points in his five starts for The Brainers this year.
While Homesick Abortions didn't win that positional battle or the overall crown, Coach Chris Crowder did earn a nice consolation prize: the award for best coaching this season. His lineup moves were 27 points better than the experts this season, which was the best mark in the league. That was 64 points better than Coach Patrick jolle, who were the worst coach in the league. They ended up costing their team the game in week 13 with their lineup decisions, which were 14 points worse than the experts that week.
Coach Tim Fabrizio did a good job coaching this year, but unfortunately it didn't matter. SkinFan wound up at 6 - 8, good for the worst record in the league. The fact that SkinFan had the 2nd hardest schedule this year (measured by points against) certainly had something to do with that.
