2nd Hand Smoke took over the Drunken Hogs' seat in 2024 and got welcomed the hard way. CallsignRacehorse inherited Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, and Garrett Wilson and still went 4-11, dead last in the North Side, and the consolation bracket only extended the misery with a 115.6-173.7 loss to KeonCounty and a 98.8-146.6 loss to Keep Pounding. The first rookie draft did not help, spending 1.08 on Adonai Mitchell and throwing away a third on Deshaun Watson.

Year two was worst-to-first. Smoke went 11-4, won the North Side and earned the No. 2 seed and a bye. The engine was a sell-high habit: Travis Kelce shipped to Keep Pounding for a 2026 first back in 2024, Jaylen Waddle pried from Shartnado just before the breakout, and Tetairoa McMillan landed at 1.02 in the rookie draft.

The semifinal was a statement, 145.6-116.0 over division rival Egbuka Matata. The final was a gut punch. Smoke scored 99.6 and lost to Big Tex's Pillow Biters by 1.8 points, 101.4-99.6, one good drive from a championship in only its second season of existence.

Egbuka Matata is the North Side foil. Egbuka owns the regular-season series 3-1, including a 0.3-point escape in Week 3 of 2025 at 119.0-118.7, though Smoke answered with a 183.1-64.9 humiliation in Week 12 and then took the one in the bracket 145.6-116.0. Neighbors who genuinely do not like each other.

The arrow points up. Smoke holds extra premium capital, an incoming 2026 first from Keep Pounding and a 2026 second from Egbuka, to pair with a young core built around McMillan, Jalen Milroe and Jaylen Waddle. Losing a title game by 1.8 points in year two is the kind of scar that funds a contender. The North Side runs through them now.
