Demmodredd's teams were always fine and never scary. Big Tex went 9-6, 8-7 and 9-6 across three years and never once won the South Side. The 2023 startup stockpiled Austin Ekeler, Stefon Diggs, Sam LaPorta in the 13th round and Chase Brown in the 17th, but the results stayed stuck in the middle.

The nadir was 2024. An 8-7 team missed the real bracket entirely and spent the postseason in the consolation round, where beating Keep Pounding 166.2-111.1 and KeonCounty 182.7-117.7 counted for exactly nothing.

2025 flipped the story. Seeded behind Shartnado in its own division, Big Tex opened the playoffs by hanging 196.1 on Keep Pounding, then walked into the semifinal and stunned the 12-3, two-time-champion Shartnado 154.1-115.7. The final against 2nd Hand Smoke was a coin flip decided by 1.8 points, 101.4-99.6, the lowest-scoring title game of the era and the only one that mattered.

The scalp was Shartnado. Big Tex trails the South Side rivalry 2-4 in the regular season and lost the Week 13 2025 meeting 132.8-171.3, but the one game that decided a season went the other way, 154.1-115.7 in the semifinal. That is the whole relationship, the neighbor who finally landed the punch that counted.

As reigning champ, Big Tex is reloading rather than defending. DK Metcalf, Jordan Addison and Jake Ferguson went to Puerto Rican Pounders and James Cook went to Shartnado, hauling back a stack of picks that includes Shartnado's 2027 first and multiple 2026 seconds. The 2025 rookie class already brought Omarion Hampton and Tyler Warren. The title was less a fluke than a heist, and the vault is now full of draft capital.
